International Children’s Day commenced during the World Conference for the Well-Being of Children held in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925.

This day was established after child labour, exploitation and trafficking increased following the Industrial Revolution and global conflicts. World leaders came together to protect children’s rights and commit to action.

Today, International Children’s Day continues to call people to take action — to support, honor and protect vulnerable children around the world every day.
