Join us for our Annual General Meeting and Community League Day!

Get your free 2026-2027 Idylwylde Community League Membership, which gives you access to free activities, community league events, and programs within Edmonton.

We'll be having our Annual General Meeting from 11 am to noon. Learn about what the board has been up to, and it you’re interested in joining the Board various positions will be up for election. President, Casino Chair, Publicity Chair, Programs Chair, Civics Chair, Garden Chair, Grants Chair and Programs Chair have reached the end of their terms and we're looking for new members. No experience is required, just a positive attitude and a love for our neighbourhood.

There will also be free food, games, and live music by Loud in the Pines, an Edmonton-based indie-folk music duo. It's fun for the whole family! Meet your neighbours, engage in some friendly competition, and enjoy being a part of our amazing community!

We've been hearing a lot about the proposed bike lane on 79 Street through our neighbourhood. You can read more about the project on the city's website here:

City Administration has recently published a report providing an update and recommended next steps in relation to the Active Transportation Network Expansion Program in light of proposed legislation from the Province. The report will be presented to Infrastructure Committee on August 26, 2026.

In attachment 5 it states:
"1. Routes that have not yet been constructed in 2026 and those planned or scheduled for installation in 2027 would be evaluated to determine if they should proceed based on the following:
a. Routes that impact travel lanes will be removed from the Active Transportation Network Expansion Program.
b. Routes that impact parking will be removed from the Active Transportation Network Expansion Program.

Further information will be shared following the Infrastructure Committee meeting.

Free Big Bin Event

The City of Edmonton is once again hosting a Big Bin Event to provide residents with the opportunity to drop off furniture, appliances and other household items that are too large or bulky for regular collection at no additional charge. The next Big Bin Event is on August 29 and 30 at Commonwealth (11100 Stadium Road) from 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. More info at edmonton.ca/EcoStations.

The Swap is on August 15 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
