Little Cats Lost (Trap-Neuter-Return) Society After witnessing the explosive population of cats and kittens in the southeast industrial section of Edmonton over 10 years ago we had a vision.

As well as TNR to lower community cat population we also have a successful adoption program where cats at risk because of unsocial behavior are Rescued, Rehab'ed & Rehomed What if we spayed and neutered as many cats as possible in the 27 colonies we had come across to reduce the birth of kittens and consequently the number of cats overall. It seemed like an impossible endeavour but we decided to pioneer this thing called “Trap-Neuter-Return”. We educated ourselves on the subject, raised money and set about fixing so many feral cats it would make your head spin. During that year, we eventually fixed close to 300 community then known as feral cats. We faced adversities and criticism along the way but we pressed on. Today, to the best knowledge of our caregivers there are 5 colonies and less than 10 cats living a feral lifestyle in that particular area. Of course management of the area has continued over the years and other colonies in other parts of the city have been helped. When first TNR’ing a location it has its fair share of feral kittens so we found ourselves having to provide for them within our rescue, hence the Rescue, Rehabilitation, Rehome progams came to be. Today, the three R’s of 10 years ago have grown to mean so much more than when we started. RESCUE: We tend to take the cats and kittens that others turn away from. Socially and medically challenged mainly, many of which are awaiting euthanasia in other facilities. The list includes, but not limited to pregnant community cats, neonates, strays, injured and distressed, senior aged cats. Basically we will try to help any who have been turned down by mainstream shelters. REHABILITATE: We employ the use of time, patience, play and a sense of calm to help these cats that have no human social connection. For those needing medical intervention we provide the veterinary care. Neonates are bottle fed and don’t only grow with their siblings but are adopted as pairs to ensure they continue to grow to be the best companion pets they can be. Our programs take a lot of time and that time in care increases our financial costs way more than the TNR group we were of yesterday. RE-HOME: Our most bittersweet part of rescue. We currently have 6 Pet Valu adoption partner stores. Due to the social nature of most of our cats and kittens on intake, our Step 1 and Step 2 foster homes become very emotionally invested. LCL understands their need to know their “babies” are going to the best possible homes so we are very cognizant of including them through the process. Our organization adopts on “fit” therefore, the animal being applied for has to fit the environment it would potentially go into. Our process moves from written application, phone conversation, virtual family meet, and finally in family meet and greet. It may seem quite a daunting process as an applicant, but we try to keep it as light and positive as possible all the while making sure our little stars will feel right at home when they go. We also have other programs within our rescue one of course is our Rodent Wranglers which is basically our barn/shop placements. It is specifically designed for the cats that fit best in a more independent lifestyle. They remain socially challenged even after our best efforts. Sharing is Caring is our other. It is an 11th hour reprieve. Cats and kittens going through this program are usually facing immediate euthanasia for a treatable medical condition due to families being financially challenged. Most calls come in to us from the emergency veterinary clinics. When possible most cats are moved to our partnering vet clinic who provides the necessary treatment to us at a rescue discount. Providing we feel the home is where the cat should be we gladly return him/her to the family. So there you have it. LCL in a nutshell. A TNR group and so much more!

We’re growed up & ready for our forever family - TOGETHER❤️❤️

Meet us at Pet Valu Morinville

Two tiny girls, one mighty friendship. Unlikely match, but sisters of the heart — different as night and day, yet close exactly where it matters.

MITSOU — The Mini Calico with a Big Story💖

Rescued after being dumped on the side of a highway near Mitsou, Alberta, this little calico was scooped up by an Earth Angel who happened to be driving by.
Despite her rough start, Mitsou is pure sweetness — calm, gentle, affectionate, and absolutely devoted to her humans.
She’s tiny, adorable… and when it comes to food, she takes zero nonsense from her bigger bestie. Mitsou’s bowl is Mitsou’s bowl.

MIA — The Energizer Bunny Torbie

Mia is Mitsou’s opposite in all the best ways — a busy, curious, nonstop explorer who always has a project, a mission, or a mystery to solve.
But once her “tasks” are complete, she melts into a purring cuddle puddle and loves nothing more than a cozy snuggle.

Together — The Perfect Pair

Different personalities, same heart. These two balance each other beautifully and make an incredible duo for any family.
They’ve lived in foster with a respectful dog and an adult cat, and handled it like champs.

Mitsou & Mia are ready to bring joy, laughter, and love to their forever home — together.

Two rare little beauties with hearts as gorgeous as their sleek black coats.

Rescued by an earth angel who stepped in the moment she saw these babies being offered as “barn kittens”… and today their story has the happiest ending.

Betty & Boop are quiet, calm, gentle, and absolutely beautiful inside and out.
Their new family fell in love the second they met them at Pet Valu Morinville — and on Saturday, these two sweethearts went home to join their two canine siblings, completing the perfect match.

Happy life, Betty & Boop.
You were meant to be cherished.
And bless the Earth Angel who saved these precious babies.❤️

𝗢𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲

The outdoors, the lack of shelter, the predators, and the uncertainty of it all were taking their toll when we showed up for this little guy, whom we named Oliver.

Desperate for kindness, he approached us with an immediate sense of relief. He was sporting an ugly wound on his left thigh that, in time, would have caused life-threatening septicaemia.

Sadly, without safe shelter or proper food, the injury—if not the predators—would have certainly brought him down, especially with winter right around the wings.

So, we scooped up this cuddly, kind, and loving boy. It feels like fate; just the night before on our volunteer site, we had shared the Starfish Story, and yesterday he became our very first "starfish" of the day.

You can tell just how happy he is. He is relaxed, probably for the first time in a long time, and he is soaking up every single minute of the love and attention he's receiving from his foster mom.

Oliver will soon be ready for adoption, but for now, we are concentrating on his wound care, pain management, and general wellbeing.

UPDATE: As of 9:49 pm Sid is at Pulse. It’s going to be a nail biter night.

𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐘𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐘 𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒⁣

Yesterday, more than one of us woke up with butterflies.

Our beautiful 17-year-old Sid, an ex-TNR cat from many years ago, was heading into surgery to fix a dislocated paw.

Not only was there trepidation about Sid making it through the procedure, there was also the potential news that it couldn’t be fixed and he would lose his front leg.

Well, this morning we are thrilled to say that he’s a trooper and doing well with his leg intact, thanks to Dr. Pet.

It’s time now for lots of smooches and healing for this old man.

Sid is another kitty in our Chloe’s House Program—"Special cats for special homes." Sid, despite his beginnings as a TNR community cat, lived many, many years indoors as a companion pet to his caregiver.

Recently however, his world changed when he suddenly found himself without a home.

Sid is now a beloved member of Chloe’s House and we would love Sid to spend his retirement with us.

Offerring sanctuary placement does come with considerable costs as you can see by Sid’s current surgical needs and his daily thyroid medication to keep him healthy,

If you are able to support Chloe’s House and cats like Sid, with Wishlist items from our website or financial donations in any amount we would be very grateful.

E-transfer donations can be sent to [email protected]. Thank you.
