The Edmonton Arts Council, in partnership with the City of Edmonton, is bringing the Green Shack Shows to Hazeldean Community League this summer—and you won't want to miss it!

Join us on Monday, July 7 at 11:00 AM for an incredible performance by Colours of Panjab, celebrating music, culture, and community.

This fun-filled, family-friendly show is completely FREE and perfect for all ages!

Well... we definitely weren't prepared for that line! 😅

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to our End of School BBQ. You kept our volunteers on their toes, our grill working overtime, and the burger lineup longer than we've seen in a very long time! 🍔🌭😂

We loved seeing so many neighbours, families, and friends come together to celebrate the start of summer. The laughter, conversations, and community spirit made every minute of the rush worthwhile.

A special shoutout to our incredible volunteers who barely had a chance to catch their breath as they worked their way through the crowd. You are the reason events like this are possible! ❤️

We hope everyone enjoyed the food, the company, and the chance to kick off summer with their community.

Now it's time for sunshine, camping trips, late nights, and making memories. We wish all of our students, families, and neighbours a fun, safe, and amazing summer break!

Music heals. Yoga heals. Why not bring them together? Let’s practice to some sweet beats as we connect the community through breath. Join Sarah as she guides you through a yoga class accompanied by an intentional Mixtape “playlist”. Each class Sarah will create a vibe that will elevate you and bring your awareness into your body with your breath. “Life is a mixtape, as is breath.”

... totally crushing it during June Bike Month!

All the Leagues might not have their Week 3 distances in (ahem, Ritchie Community League!) but that won't stop us from celebrating the amazing mileage you've all put in over the first 3 weeks.

Let's keep pushing those pedals right up to midnight on Tuesday, June 30!

You can help accumulate kilometers for "Hazeldean United" through both indoor and outdoor cycling. Here’s three AWESOME ways to participate in the challenge!

🚴 OPTION #1:
Join the "Hazeldean United" STRAVA group, and sync your favourite fitness tracking device to automatically upload your data: https://www.strava.com/clubs/801266

🚴 OPTION #2:
Manually submit your cycling stats into this Google Form: https://forms.gle/VE3r27yDnb2L2ks79
Don't forget your multipliers, if you are manually logging an activity that only one person was tracking on a device. For example, if there were 5 people in your family, that 3km bike ride is really worth 15km!

🚴 OPTION #3:
Email your weekly totals to [email protected] by 11:59:59pm each Sunday evening.

Week #2 is wrapping up, Hazelnuts!

The Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues is challenging all Edmonton neighbourhoods to "June Bike Month" from June 1-30, 2026.

We've got a few goals ahead of us:

#1 - Get active, for our own mental and physical well-being.
#2 - Close the gap with our pesky neighbours to the north, Ritchie Community League.
#3 - Best our 2025 June Bike Month 2nd place finish.

Is the damaged fence ugly? Yes.

Is it a hazard for people wanting to use the basketball court? Also yes.

Do we all wish it could be repaired immediately? Absolutely.

Unfortunately, the repair is not something the Community League can complete on its own. The fence along the western edge of the League property is located on Tripartite Agreement land and is specifically City of Edmonton property. Because of this, the repair process requires coordination between Edmonton Police Service, insurance companies, and the City of Edmonton.

We understand the frustration. We share it. However, the proper process must be followed before repairs can move ahead.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as this works its way through the appropriate channels.
