Lori was excited to sit down with Tracy Gardner, CEO of 4-H Alberta, for Episode 6 of 4-H Alberta Talks 4-H to talk about 4-H Intro Clubs—something her and the Intro Club team are proud of.

We share what Intro Clubs look like, why they matter, and how they help new families get started in 4-H.

If you know someone who’s been curious about 4-H, we would love for you to take a listen and share it.

Questions about Intro Clubs or getting involved? We are always happy to chat.

Touring with our Intro Club crew was such a great experience 🌱

From living lettuce to fresh basil, herbs, and microgreens, everything is grown clean, without pesticides, and right here locally in their indoor farm.

A big thank you to the Hydra Greens team for taking the time to show our group behind the scenes and let us taste real “fresh” produce!

At our first 4H session, we learned about each other, and we learned about microgreens and how to grow them. brought some microgreens for us to taste, and at the end, we made a smoothie from the microgreens we learned about. We even got to bring microgreens home to grow ourselves!

BCS@Home Club - Week 3

At 4-H this week we learned how to make a motion. A motion is when someone says they “move” to do something and then they say what they move for. Someone can second that motion by saying “I second that motion.” We used that skill to decide what should be on pizza and what should not be on pizza, it was so funny.

Then we played hide the lego piece.

Next we learned how to work with cut glass to make sun catchers. While we were making sun catchers the teacher would call out two names and those two people would come to the pottery wheel she had set up, to make a bowl. Then, if they were done they would go and help make their smoothie. It was a delicious orange creamsicle smoothie.
