We can’t wait to celebrate with so many of you. We have a record number of attendees this year for which we couldn’t be more grateful. As a reminder for those of you that were not able to get tickets we do have a waitlist open (link in bio)

April 27th was Efa’s birthday and we are celebrating together by opening the fund up for donations from April 25-28.

All funds donated will be matched 50% up to $10,000!

Support the Scholarship, Honour a Legacy

On May 22, 2025, one of our founding board members and dear friends, Dr. Efa Etoroma, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

Efa meant so much to so many, and his legacy was profound. To all of us at Youth Rise, he meant the world.

He gave us the confidence we needed to start Youth Rise and lead it with excellence. His presence and wisdom brought comfort as we made critical decisions.

His influence on Youth Rise is everlasting. He was not only a board member, but a dear friend to many on the team. He cared deeply for the youth we served and was broken over the situations many of them came from. He was passionate about empowering them with the right tools to rise in life.

To allow his legacy to live on even more, we have launched the Dr. Efa Etoroma Memorial Scholarship. This is a post secondary scholarship for select young people from the Youth Rise community. We have always set out to remove barriers for youth from vulnerable communities, and this is a monumental step in that direction. Dr. Etoroma was a professor or Sociology at Concordia University for the past 30 years and his passion for higher education will be honoured with this scholarship.

Future leaders will come from this. Changemakers in our city who will invest heavily back into the communities they came from.

This is another layer of resiliency that Youth Rise can offer to these young people while continuing to honour Efa’s legacy.

This is Cody Priebe! He has been the Board President of Youth Rise for 6 years. Cody has a passion for helping people reach new milestones and discover new possibilities.
You can find Cody reading, volunteering at his church, or spending time with his wife and their two children.

Cody is an absolute legend and a big part Of why Youth Rise is what it is today! 🙌

In 2025 we,

Saw just under 1000 individual youth attend our programs 
Ran 10 unique programs across 4 locations in the city
Employed 16 people
Had over 60 frontline volunteers serving consistently
Served thousands of meals to hungry youth

One of the things that has always blown me away about leading Youth Rise from the ground up is the overwhelming generosity of individuals who have given so sacrificially to our mission.

There is an army of donors out there! Just in May we had 500 show up to our fundraiser. And we’ve had many more engage with us throughout the year.

2/3 of our entire annual revenue is still from private donations! That is incredible and it is a gift.

People who have been moved by wanting to see a brighter future for the youth of our city.

We are ready to step into our 7th year in 2026 with confidence knowing that God has something incredible for our future.

Continuing until December 31, we have a donor match that will match up to 33% of every donation.

Thank you for continuing to believe in us.
