As our ponds have now thawed out and things are warming up - PLEASE DO NOT DUMP GOLDFISH/KOI INTO OUR PONDS!! Goldfish are an invasive species that threaten our natural waterways.

The Glastonbury Community League is pleased to be collaborating with The Hamptons Community League Edmonton to bring you a temporary offleash dog park this summer!

Location:
North of the visitor parking lot at the Grange District Park
355 Hemingway Road NW

Hours:
8am-9pm
May 7-October 30

Enjoy the park responsibly and be a good neighbour!

-Keep your dog leashed until inside the designated off-leash area.
-Supervise your dog closely while in the park. The behaviour of your dog is your responsibility. Keep your dog under control at all times.
-Always clean up after your dog—waste bins are provided for your convenience.
-Wildlife is present in all parks. Do not allow your dog to chase.
-Respect noise levels—excessive barking can disrupt nearby residents.
-Keep the area clean and report any maintenance concerns to the Community League.

As things warm-up and more people are getting outside with their pets more often please remember:

*The City of Edmonton requires that all dogs must be kept on a leash at all times when on public property. Failure to do so can result in fines of up to $100. The Glastonbury Community League currently does not have a designated off-leash area (although we are working on that - stay tuned!), so if you are taking your dog for a walk in our community, please make sure they are on a leash!

*It is your responsibility to pick-up your dog's droppings and dispose of them in a designated waste bin. Our HOA's have placed several dog waste stations around the community along popular paths and trails that are available for anyone in the community to use!

Fraud Prevention: Prior to hiring a contractor who requests a deposit upfront, be wise & check them out. In Alberta, businesses are not allowed to take deposits for work unless they have a specific licence called a Prepaid Contracting Licence. You can verify if they have one at: https://www.servicealberta.gov.ab.ca/find-if-business-is-licenced.cfm Just fill out the form and select “Prepaid Contractor” under the licensing type. If a company is asking for a deposit and doesn’t have this licence, that’s a major red flag 🚩

The business types appearing are only those required to be licensed or registered with the Consumer Services Branch of Service Alberta. Other business types may be licensed through other ministries or organizations or may not need licences at all.

REMINDER: Your 2026 PNRA HOA Fee Invoice have been sent out by email wherever possible or by Canada Post in December 2024. Please keep a watch-out for them, as deadline for payment is February 28th, 2026, with interest payable on the outstanding balance thereafter at a rate of the Bank of Canada Prime Rate plus five percent, backdated to January 1, 2026. A final reminder letter will be sent to those remaining in March, 2026 to those not currently in collections, with collection to commence May 1st, 2026.
