CIRCLE International, in partnership with The Young Learns Africa Foundation, is pleased to invite seniors to a warm and joyful Thanksgiving Cultural Celebration for Seniors under the New Horizons for Seniors Program.

Join us for an afternoon of culture, gratitude, connection, and celebration as we come together to honor our seniors and create meaningful community connections in a welcoming and festive environment.

CIRCLE International successfully organized an engaging Leadership Management session as part of our ongoing Anti-Racism Education Program.

The session focused on strengthening participants’ leadership confidence, communication skills, community advocacy, and ability to take active roles in their communities. Through discussion, reflection, and practical learning, participants explored how effective leadership can help individuals speak up, build stronger relationships, support inclusion, and contribute to positive community change.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Chand Gul, our facilitator, for sharing her knowledge, experience, and practical insights with the participants. We are also grateful to everyone who joined the session and contributed to the meaningful discussion and learning environment.

At CIRCLE International, we believe that strengthening community leadership is an important part of building more inclusive, equitable, and racism-free communities.

Helping Seniors Stay Connected, Confident and Safe Online

CIRCLE International was pleased to bring together seniors from diverse communities for our Digital Scams & Fraud Awareness for Seniors session on September 11, 2026.

The session created a welcoming space for seniors to meet one another, build new connections, share experiences and learn practical ways to recognize digital scams, protect personal and financial information, and feel more confident using technology and online services.

A sincere thank you to the Nsdf Edmonton for collaborating with CIRCLE International and for providing interpretation support, helping make the session more accessible and inclusive for participants from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

We also extend our special appreciation to the City of Edmonton Reuse Centre for providing the space for the session and giving participating seniors the opportunity to explore the centre and select useful items available free of charge. This added another meaningful and practical experience to the day.

This session is part of CIRCLE International’s CIRCLE of Connection initiative, which brings seniors together through learning, peer connection and community participation while helping reduce isolation and strengthen confidence.

This activity is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.

CIRCLE International is pleased to invite community members to our upcoming Leadership Management Session under the Edmonton Intercultural Women Anti-Racism Circle project.

This interactive session will focus on strengthening leadership skills, building confidence, and supporting women, girls and allies to respond to racism and discrimination while contributing to stronger, more inclusive communities.

The session will be facilitated by Madam Chand Gul , an experienced trainer, mentor, community activist, wellness and mental health consultant, and award-winning volunteer.

CIRCLE International was pleased to host an inspiring Community Session on Gender and Racism on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Empire Park Community League in Edmonton.

It was an amazing and meaningful session that brought community members together for open discussion, shared learning, and reflection on gender, racism, inclusion, equity, and respectful dialogue. Participants had the opportunity to exchange perspectives, ask important questions, and explore how we can all contribute to building safer, stronger, and more inclusive communities.

The session was enriched by the participation of community members from diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds, bringing a wide range of experiences and perspectives to the discussion.

We sincerely thank our trainer and speaker, Jennifer Bennett for sharing her knowledge, experience, and thoughtful insights with participants. Her engaging approach helped create a respectful space for learning and meaningful conversation.

🌍 World Hepatitis Day – July 28

World Hepatitis Day is observed every year to raise awareness about viral hepatitis, a serious inflammation of the liver that can lead to chronic liver disease and liver cancer. This day reminds us of the importance of prevention, early diagnosis, safe healthcare practices, and timely access to treatment.

As a part of our global initiatives, CIRCLE International has launched community awareness programs in underserved and informal settlements of Karachi, Pakistan. Through sensitization sessions, we are working to educate vulnerable communities about hepatitis B and C, unsafe injections, reused medical equipment, unprotected exposure to medical waste, testing, prevention, and available treatment options. These communities often face poverty, overcrowding, limited access to clean water, and barriers to formal healthcare, making local awareness and early screening especially important.

Our goal is to bring reliable health information closer to the people who need it most, reduce stigma, encourage testing, and connect communities with appropriate health services. Together, through education, prevention, and community action, we can help build a future where hepatitis is identified early, treated effectively, and no longer ignored.
