Our summer camps are starting soon, and our members will be spending their days outside being active and having fun with friends. We want to make sure they stay safe during outdoor activities, so we're running a Sun Safety Drive this summer, and we'd love your help.

We're collecting three things for our campers:

- New, unopened sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher. Lotion, not spray)
- New sun hats (for ages 5-12), and
- New water bottles

These help keep kids cool, hydrated, and protected from the sun while they're outside with us.

If you'd like to contribute, you can drop a donation off at one of our Club sites or send us a message and we'll arrange a pickup. Anything helps.

Thanks for being there for our kids and for helping us make this a good summer for everyone at BGC Greater Halifax summer camps!

What a day at the Bluenose!

Our members ran, cheered, and crossed finish lines together, and the energy was something else.

Huge thanks to the staff who ran alongside members, cheered from the sidelines, and celebrated every single finish. To the whole East Dartmouth team, thank you for the months of prep that made today run like a dream.

We loved seeing our junior volunteers step up and so many families jump in this year. Watching families, staff, volunteers, and members share in the excitement together is the whole point.

To everyone who participated, cheered, volunteered, organized, and supported our members today: thank you. And most of all, thank you for helping our members feel supported, celebrated, and proud of what they can do.

Already counting down to Bluenose 2027. Congratulations, everyone. You should be proud! Swipe through some shots from the day.

Screens, stress, and standoffs at home? You're not alone.

Join us Wednesday, June 10, from 6–7:30pm for Parenting Without Power Struggles in a Digital World, a free evening workshop for parents and caregivers navigating the realities of raising kids online.

We'll dig into healthy screen use, online safety, and how to build the kind of trust that keeps communication open, even when things get tough.

In partnership with YWCA Halifax and the IWK Dartmouth Community Health Team.

A huge thank you to our friends at M&M Food Market for their incredible support of BGC clubs across Canada! Every year, M&M Food Market runs a month-long in-store fundraising campaign to help raise $100,000 for BGC Canada and we are so grateful to be part of that.

A special shoutout to the Portland Street, Tantallon, and Sackville M&M Food Market locations, who went above and beyond by donating over 200 frozen fruit bars for our kids to enjoy on Club Day last Friday. On a warm June day, that kind of generosity goes a long way.
