We recently held a weekend Field training evercise at Camp Kidston.

We joined forces with 2632 RCACC and it looks like all cadets had a great time!

Do you know someone who loves the outdoors? Army cadets might be a great option for them!

A few weeks ago, several of our senior cadets participated in a Canadian Armed Forces engagement with the NS Highlanders, where they got to see and try equipment that CAF members use for their various roles.

Events like this help foster an interest in the activities of the CAF.

We’re going to Provincials!🥰

A few weeks ago we competed in the Zone Biathlon( run & shoot) competition; a first for 848 cadets!

Huge shout out to WO Dodd and WO Adams who made the selection to the Provincial team!

Kudos to High’r Myers on an excellent competition, and to MCpl Wight for stepping up to be the Cadet Coach!

Special recognition to MCpl ( now Sgt) Williams for volunteering as a Support cadet. The competition would not be a success without cadet volunteers sich as yourself!

Well done 848 RCACC!

A few weekends ago our cadets were out working on their field skills before they go out for a full weekend expedition. Our junior cadets worked on their knots and lashings while the older cadets built emegency fishing lines!

It’s a good thing we brought lunch though, as the fish were not biting!

As part of their Annual PHASE Training, our cadets welcomed the Halifax Regional Police for a hands‑on session about drug awareness and policing.

The HRP Drug Team brought a briefcase of real evidence samples — yes, the actual tools used in investigations — and walked our cadets through addiction, consequences, and how police work to keep communities safe.

Even better, this session happened because our cadets asked for it. Their curiosity, maturity, and willingness to learn about tough topics is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Strong minds. Strong choices. Strong leaders.

From Past to Peak – A Day of Citizenship, CAF Heritage, Team Building & Challenge!

A couple weeks ago, cadets of 848 The Scots’ Highland Company took part in a full-day adventure training exercise called “From Past to Peak.” It was an incredible day designed to build citizenship, strengthen teamwork, explore Canadian Armed Forces history, and push our physical fitness to new heights!

Our day began at the Army Museum at the Halifax Citadel, where cadets received a guided tour of the exhibits and explored the historic grounds. Learning about Canada’s military past gave everyone a deeper appreciation for our Armed Forces.

Next, we made our way to the Museum of Natural History to explore the galleries—including the exciting Dinosaur exhibit, which was a huge hit!

We wrapped up the day at East Peak Indoor Climbing, where cadets tackled high‑rope climbs and bouldering routes. This was a fantastic chance for cadets to challenge themselves, build confidence, and cheer each other on.

It was an amazing day of learning, leadership, and adventure. A huge shout‑out to our cadets for their enthusiasm and teamwork every step of the way!
