Sew Hopeful in Haiti and at Home

Sew Hopeful in Haiti and at Home Sew Hopeful is a group dedicated to working collaboratively with people in Haiti and in our home communities too.

Together we develop skills, learning resources and plans that will enrich personal and economic well-being via sewing. Sew Hopeful was initiated March 2013, in partnership with Global Partners missionaries Carl and Maya Gilles. Our hope was (and continues to be) that God would:

~Join Our Hearts, Heads and Hands Together in Love with Haiti~

Over the years we have had the privilege of providing s

upplies and teaching skills to women in the community of Babaco, Haiti. Recently, we began to also work with West Indies Self Help (WISH) to help women and girls develop sewing skills and build community in Anse et Galet, LaGonave, Haiti. Now in 2017, we are beginning to meet with people in our own communities here at home to do the same thing -- help empower and enable people to learn new skills, make friends, have fun and potentially earn some money too!

It’s official! WISH is making ice using the power of the sun. Now that the first 1.5 phases are done (out of 3) of the solar project, WISH has lessened it’s dependence on diesel fuel by up to 50%. Maybe more! Help us push this program to completion. With the prices of diesel fuel around $7.63 US per gallon, twice as much as September and over 3 times as much over last year, there is no time like the present to ā€œget er doneā€. Donate on-line at haitwish.org.

When you are shopping, today or any day, remember that you can help WISH, too! Just select West Indies Self Help on smile.amazon.com and shop as you normally do. You receive what you order and WISH receives a percentage of the purchase amount as a donation!
