To Learn. To Serve. To Advance. Air Cadets is an organization for youth between the ages of 12-18.

Mentoring Dartmouth, Nova Scotia area youth ages 12 to 18 develop leadership, teamwork and practical skills, whilst promoting aviation and the Royal Canadian Air Force since 1941. The program offers a safe and secure learning environment through which youth can have fun, build lasting friendships and develop transferable, career enhancing skills that last a lifetime. From September to June, we normally meet once a week from 6:30 – 9:00 at 12 Wing Shearwater in Building 5 on the lower base. We also offer the following Optional Training Programs: Band, Marskmanship, Biathlon, Sports, Drill Team, Flag Party and Ground School

2026 marks 85 years since 18 Dartmouth Squadron's formation in 1941!

We marked the occasion at our first CO's parade of the training year by officially presenting our new Drum Major, WO2 Lien, with the Squadron's new baldric sash - bearing the cypher of His Majesty King Charles III. This sash was quietly previewed by WO2 Bent at our last ACR.

Bravo Zulu to our many promotions and service medal recipients!

18 RCACS took part in last weekend's ceremony marking the 86th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain at 12 Wing Shearwater.

23 Canadian airmen gave their lives defending the very heart of the Empire. The hard won Allied victory was a turning point in the war, halting forever the planned German invasion of the United Kingdom.

We honour all who served and continue to serve for Canada.

Our 85th Annual Ceremonial Review truly rose to the occasion.

Since 1941, 18 Dartmouth has been a bright beacon of dedication and excellence in our community, and we are proud to continue carrying that legacy forward.

Congratulations to every single Cadet on parade on the successful completion of another training year! A special shout out to our Band, Drill Team and R***e Drill Team on some truly magnificent displays, and a bittersweet farewell to all of our graduating Cadets!

We are incredibly grateful to His Honour, The Honourable Mike Savage ONS, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, for serving as our reviewing officer, and to 12 Wing Shearwater, for hosting us all these years. A sincere thanks to all of our staff, volunteers, and donors who make this all possible.
