❤️ Community Meal #2 Served in Morón ❤️

Just days after launching the Morón Community Food Program, our team came together once again to prepare, serve, and deliver meals throughout the community.

This second meal service provided food, fellowship, and support to 21 children and 20 adults — a total of 41 meals served.

The day began long before the first meal was served. Volunteers cleaned and prepared the space, gathered ingredients, cooked over charcoal, organized activities for the children, and worked together to ensure everyone felt welcome.

For those unable to attend, meals were delivered directly to seniors and vulnerable residents in their homes, ensuring they were not forgotten.

What began as a simple idea is quickly becoming something much larger: a place where people can gather, share a meal, build relationships, and support one another.

A special thank you to our Morón team, Yordy and his family, the local church community, volunteers, donors, and supporters who continue making this possible.

A heartfelt thank you to Tara for an extraordinary donation that will help support individuals and families across Cuba. ❤️

This generous donation included a wide range of medical supplies, wound care products, mobility and rehabilitation items, respiratory equipment, incontinence products, dressings, medications, and other essential healthcare supplies that are often difficult to obtain.

With Tara based in Atlantic Canada and the donation located in Sutton, this truly became a community effort. A special thank you to our volunteer Ben, who stepped up to collect the donation on our behalf and transport it to our Niagara collection hub, helping ensure these much-needed supplies could continue their journey to Cuba.

Donations like this help our teams respond to medical requests, support vulnerable individuals, and provide essential supplies to communities throughout Cuba.

Thank you, Tara, for your generosity and compassion. And thank you, Ben, for helping make it all possible. ❤️

As our programs continue to grow and more donations arrive, many of our individual donation thank-yous will begin appearing in our Stories so we can keep our feed focused on community impact, projects, and the people your support is helping.

Some requests may seem small, but they can make a significant difference in someone’s daily life. ❤️

Recently, our Holguín team assisted a vulnerable community member living with chronic health challenges who requires ongoing medical monitoring and care.

To help support her medical needs, we were able to provide:
• A size 10 syringe for required medical testing
• Sterile saline solution
• Medical sponges for prosthesis care

Items that are often easy to obtain elsewhere can be difficult to access for many individuals in Cuba, particularly those living with ongoing health concerns and limited resources.

We are grateful to our supporters who help make it possible for our teams to respond to requests like these and provide practical assistance where it is needed most. ❤️

While our new Morón meal program continues to provide prepared meals to vulnerable seniors and individuals, our team is also working to support families facing food insecurity within the community. ❤️

This week, our team distributed raw food supplies to several families and individuals in need, including rice, chicken, and other essential food items.

For many households, receiving these supplies means being able to prepare meals for their families, reduce financial pressure, and focus on caring for loved ones during difficult times.

Every family’s situation is different, which is why our team works closely with local community members to identify needs and provide support where it can make the greatest impact.

Food assistance remains one of the most requested forms of support we receive, and thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters, we are able to continue responding when needs arise.

Thank you to everyone helping us make a difference in Morón and across Cuba. ❤️

Today marks a major milestone for our Morón team. ❤️

Through the addition of our longtime friend of more than 30 years, Yordy, his family, and the support of their church, Iglesia Evangélica Cubana, we officially launched our first community meal program in Morón.

On this first day, approximately 47 meals were prepared and distributed to vulnerable seniors and individuals throughout the community.

Using the church kitchen and the support of local volunteers, meals were prepared with rice, chicken, vegetables, bananas, and other fresh ingredients before being delivered directly to recipients and shared with others who gathered to eat together.

For many of those served today, this was more than a meal.

It was a reminder that they are not forgotten.

It was a visit, a conversation, a moment of connection, and the comfort of knowing someone cares.

For years, our Morón team has responded to medical requests, delivered humanitarian aid, and supported individuals facing difficult circumstances. Today, that work expanded into something we have hoped to achieve for a long time — a regular community meal program.

We are incredibly grateful to Yordy, his family, the volunteers of Iglesia Evangélica Cubana, our Morón team, and every supporter who has helped make this milestone possible.

Today was the beginning of something special. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to an anonymous supporter who recently purchased several items from our Amazon Wishlist in support of our humanitarian efforts for Cuba. ❤️

This thoughtful donation included:
• Vitamin C
• Children’s Motrin
• Polysporin
• Hydrocortisone and Tolnaftate cream
• Alginate wound dressings
• A digital thermometer
• Vitamin B

While these may seem like everyday items, many are difficult to access consistently and can make a meaningful difference for individuals and families facing illness, injury, and ongoing medical challenges.

Every item donated helps us continue responding to requests from our teams on the ground and ensures essential supplies reach those who need them most.

To our anonymous donor — thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support of this mission. ❤️

📊 MAY 2026 IMPACT REPORT

❤️ 84 Individuals Helped
🏘️ 5 Organizations Supported
🍽️ 81 Meals Provided

May was a month of both progress and challenge.

Medical aid continued reaching vulnerable individuals across Cuba, including support for diabetic patients, surgical cases, respiratory care, mobility assistance, and essential medications. We also expanded our network through the addition of a new team in Guantánamo, helping us reach even more communities in need.

At the same time, prolonged power outages and a worsening water shortage forced the suspension of our community meal program. Before food could be lost, remaining supplies were distributed directly to vulnerable families and seniors, ensuring every possible meal reached those who needed it most.

The challenges faced in May reinforced an important lesson: humanitarian support depends on more than food and supplies. Reliable access to water and electricity has become critical to sustaining community-based programs.

Throughout May, support reached communities including Morón, Holguín, Varadero, Guantánamo, Santiago de Cuba, Punta Alegre, and Ciego de Ávila.

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, traveller, and local team member who continues to make this work possible.

We’ve been working behind the scenes. ❤️

Over the past several months, we’ve been updating and expanding our website to better support our mission and the communities we serve.

The updated website now includes:

• impact stories from Cuba
• volunteer opportunities
• easier ways to support our work
• secure online credit card donations

While our website serves as a central resource for our organization, our day-to-day updates, stories, donation needs, and community impact will continue to be shared right here on our social media channels.

We invite you to take a look and explore the updated site:

Earlier this year, A Lot of Love For Cuba was introduced to two Cuban MONAT ambassadors who were looking for ways to support the communities they call home in Cuba. ❤️

One of those ambassadors was Naya, whose family lives in Morón.

Through those conversations, we learned more about the needs within her community and identified an opportunity to work together on a special outreach initiative.

Working alongside Naya’s family and our team on the ground, supplies provided through our humanitarian programs and supporters were distributed to individuals and families throughout the neighborhood. The outreach included toys, clothing, wound care supplies, personal care items, and other essential goods.

What began as a simple introduction became an opportunity to connect people who wanted to help with people who needed support.

We are grateful to Naya, her family, and our local team for helping make this initiative possible and for reminding us how powerful community connections can be. ❤️
