For Diana and her family in Chisinau, Moldova, life is a daily struggle. With six children to care for, ongoing health challenges that prevent her from working consistently, and a husband whose income doesn't meet their growing needs, Diana faces overwhelming hardships.

For the past two years, our ministry team has supported this family with practical assistance while sharing the love of Christ. Diana occasionally attends women’s Bible studies, and her children participate in summer Bible camps and other church activities.

Recently, our team visited the family with a special gift of God’s Word for three of Diana’s daughters: Melissa, 9; Milana, 6; and Renata, 5. The girls eagerly opened their very first Bibles, excitedly turning the pages to read the Gospel for themselves.

For these young girls, receiving their own Bibles was more than a simple gift. It was an opportunity to discover the hope, comfort, and promises of Scripture amid their family's daily struggles.

Sometimes, sharing God’s love begins with one simple act of kindness. ❤️

“God called me to show His love in a tangible way,” shares Galina, a former School Without Walls (SWW) student.

During a Scripture outreach on the streets, Galina felt God leading her to approach a young mother and her baby. “I was walking down the street when I saw them. I was so overcome with love for this baby boy and his mother that I felt a lump in my throat,” said Galina. “So I leaned over and said to the baby boy, ‘Jesus loves you so much.’”

Those few words opened the door to something greater—a heartfelt conversation with the young mother, giving Galina the opportunity to share the gospel and place a copy of Scripture in her hands.

Through her training with School Without Walls, Galina had been equipped to recognize opportunities to share Christ's love and boldly act on them.

For millions of Ukrainians, war has destroyed more than homes; it has torn families and communities apart. And for years, the Donetsk region was home to the Church Without Walls, but as war forced its members to flee across Ukraine, their once-close community was reduced to brief messages and phone calls.

Thanks to Mission Eurasia and Caring Hands, something beautiful happened. For seven days, this scattered church family reunited at a rehabilitation center in Zhdeniievo, western Ukraine, for much-needed emotional and spiritual healing.

For the first time in months, families gathered around the same table, prayed together, shared their struggles, and found comfort in one another. Children played without fear, while adults rediscovered the joy of belonging.

“No matter how many miles separate us, we remain one family,” their pastor shared. “We are returning home with renewed strength to persevere and support one another.”

For 22 years, the Central Asian Prayer Gathering (CAP) has united Christians across the region in prayer, seeking God's blessing, unity, and spiritual revival.

This year, Mission Eurasia partnered with a local church to host the first-ever prayer run in Almaty, bringing together 85 participants from different nationalities and churches. As they ran one of three distances, every step became a powerful expression of faith and a united prayer for the nations of Central Asia. Their mission was greater than reaching the finish line. It was about reaching hearts with the hope of Jesus Christ.

At a recent camp called “Fun Holidays with God," children studied Scripture and learned to pray, forgive, and love others thanks to the help of their mentors. One of the camp’s most touching moments came when Viktoria from Caring Hands surprised each child with their very own children’s Bible. Their faces lit up as they eagerly opened the colorful pages and began to read.

For Mark, his Bible immediately became a treasure. He carried it everywhere—on the swings, to the gazebo, and throughout the monastery grounds. Filled with curiosity, he asked Viktoria question after question about God, creation, and biblical heroes.

But the most moving moments came when Mark knelt each day and prayed fervently for God to protect his father, Volodymyr, 37, who is serving in the war defending Ukraine.

When Mark returned home, his mother, Erika, and sister, Kamila, 14, immediately saw a change. After only one week at camp, he was calmer, more caring, and seemed to have matured before their eyes. His newfound faith and prayers became a source of strength for the entire family as they waited for his father to return safely home.

“Fun Holidays with God” lasted only a week, but its impact reached far beyond the camp. Children returned home filled with joy, new friendships, and a deeper faith—carrying with them a spiritual foundation that could last a lifetime.

Before the war, 14-year-old Vitya was an ordinary boy from Kherson with a happy childhood ahead of him. But months of heavy shelling, life under occupation, and constant fear robbed him of critical years of learning and healthy development.

When Vitya arrived at the Caring Hands rehabilitation center in Zhdeniievo, he was frightened and withdrawn. Nearly 15, he could read only syllable by syllable and was deeply ashamed.

First, Vitya needed to feel safe. Through counseling, art therapy, group activities, and the care of our School Without Walls leaders, he slowly began to open up. Then, step by step, we worked on reading together, using the Psalms for their simple, comforting rhythm.

Soon, another child, Nastya, began reading alongside him. Her patient encouragement helped Vitya become less afraid of making mistakes and more confident in himself.

Three weeks couldn’t erase everything Vitya had endured, but they gave him something powerful: hope. By the end of the program, he was regularly attending his online classes and committed to continuing his education when he returned home.

Government social-assistance coverage in Ukraine fell from about 25% of households in early 2024 to 17% by the end of 2025. The average monthly benefit also declined to about UAH 3,000, roughly $95 CAD.

At the same time, the costs of food, medicine, and utilities have risen sharply. The gap between what families receive and what they need is growing.

Lyuba came to the Carpathian Mountains from Kherson hoping for a few days of refuge from the war, a chance to breathe, rest, and recover from the constant fear. But the war found her there.

While Lyuba was staying at Mission Eurasia’s rehabilitation center for war widows and children, devastating news arrived: a Russian missile had struck her family’s home. Her son-in-law was killed, and her daughter was seriously wounded.

In an instant, Lyuba’s world changed, but she was not alone. The counselors and others at the center surrounded her with compassion. They prayed with her, cried with her, listened, and simply stayed by her side. Through their care, Lyuba saw the love of Jesus and opened her heart to the hope they shared.

When she left to be with her wounded daughter, her grief remained. But now she carried faith, hope, and strength to help her daughter through the days ahead.

As the program coordinator shared: “We cannot stop every missile Russia relentlessly launches at the cities of Ukraine… But we can be there when someone’s world comes crashing down.”

And sometimes simply being there with compassion, prayer, and the love of Christ is where hope begins again.
