Meet Archie!
Archie is a 3-year-old Heeler/Shepherd mix with a big brain, big personality, and plenty of potential!
This handsome guy is incredibly smart, and when you combine the intelligence of a German Shepherd with the instincts and energy of a Heeler, you get one very clever dog! Archie simply wasn't set up for success with the particular breeds he's mixed with. He needs a home that understands that his busy brain and natural herding instincts need appropriate outlets — otherwise, he's likely to come up with a little mischief of his own!
Archie would thrive with someone who enjoys working with their dog and can give him structure, enrichment, training, and plenty of ways to use his brain. Puzzle toys, learning new tricks, sniffing adventures, and having a job to do will all help keep this smart boy happy and fulfilled.
Because Archie is a herding breed, we recommend a home without small animals such as cats or rabbits and without young children. We believe these boundaries will give Archie the best opportunity to succeed and allow everyone in the home to feel comfortable and safe.
When it comes to other dogs, Archie does well with mellow dogs of all sizes. A calm canine companion could be a great fit for this clever guy.
Archie is currently waiting for his neuter this Thursday, and once he has recovered, he'll be ready to find his forever home!
