🌟 A Wonderful Weekend of Learning and Community at Chatham Islamic Centre 🌟

Alhamdulillah, CIC hosted two successful community programs this weekend.

🌸 On Friday, the Women’s Speaker Series (Session 2) brought sisters together in a welcoming environment to learn more about their deen, engage in beneficial discussions, and share experiences in an atmosphere of sisterhood and mutual support. It was uplifting to see such active participation and meaningful dialogue.

☕ On Sunday, the Seniors Health & Social Gathering (50+) featured an informative presentation by Dr. Najib Khalifa on common GI diseases in adults and the importance of prevention and early awareness. The session was very well received, and attendees gained valuable health insights. Seniors also enjoyed healthy refreshments, socializing, and friendly games, with separate activities for brothers and sisters, creating a warm and enjoyable community experience.

Jazakum Allahu Khayran to all the volunteers, organizers, and participants who helped make these programs a success. May Allah continue to bless our community with beneficial knowledge, good health, and strong bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood.

We continue InshAllah to hold programs to different segments of our community. InshAllah more programs to come in the next couple of weeks.

There will be a program for kids (Boys under 7 and Girls Under 13) and a boys engagement program (age 7 to 12yrs) InshAllah this Month. Stay Tuned!

🌸 Women’s Monthly Tea-Time Circle – A Wonderful Beginning! 🌸

Alhamdulillah, our Women’s Monthly Tea-Time Circle launched yesterday with a great turnout and enthusiastic participation from sisters across our community.

The gathering provided a warm and welcoming space for sisters to connect, share experiences, and discuss ways to strengthen support for women in our community. Many valuable ideas were shared, including learning about the remarkable women of Islam who serve as role models for Muslimahs today. In shaa Allah, our next session will begin with the inspiring story of Nusaybah bint Ka’ab (RA).

Sisters also suggested incorporating simple wellness activities, so future gatherings will include a short seated stretching session. Meaningful discussions took place around the challenges of raising Muslim families in the current environment we live in, allowing sisters to learn from one another’s experiences and support one another in a safe and uplifting environment.

A beautiful highlight of the afternoon was sharing tea, homemade treats, and learning about the diverse cultures within our community.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan to all the sisters who attended and contributed their ideas. We look forward to growing this circle into a lasting space of sisterhood, learning, and support.

May Allah (SWT) bless this initiative and make it a source of khayr for our sisters and families. 🤍

🩷 Youth Girls Engagement Session – A Wonderful Afternoon of Learning & Sisterhood 🩷

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Alhamdulillah, Youth Girls Engagement Session (Grade 8 and above) was a great success, with more than 20 young sisters participating in an enriching afternoon of faith, creativity, and sisterhood.

The session began with the sisters watching an inspiring video followed by a meaningful discussion on Taqwa (God-consciousness) and what it means to strengthen our relationship with Allah (SWT). The girls reflected on practical ways to increase their awareness of Allah in their daily lives and remain steadfast in their faith amidst the challenges they face as young Muslim women.

Following the discussion, the sisters enjoyed a fun and engaging painting activity, allowing them to express their creativity while spending quality time together in a positive and welcoming environment.

Beyond the activities, the session provided an opportunity for our young Muslim sisters to build friendships, strengthen their sense of belonging, and benefit from a safe space where they can grow together in faith, character, and confidence.

A heartfelt thank you to all the sisters who volunteered, organized, and contributed to making this program such a meaningful experience for our youth.

A special Jazakum Allahu Khairan to Dr. Michelle Sultan for her continued dedication and efforts in supporting this important segment of our community.

May Allah (SWT) reward everyone involved, bless our youth, and allow these gatherings to continue benefiting our community for years to come.

We look forward to seeing even more young sisters join us at future sessions, Insha’Allah.
