Does stake season have you dreaming about purchasing your next champion? The 2026 Atlantic Classic Sale is pleased to announce that there are 156 horses consigned to this year's sale from 43 consignors. This year's sale will have offspring from first-crop Maritime stallions Keystone Velocity, Rock of Cashel, Twin B Tuffenuff, and US Captain, as well as first-crop Ohio stallion Carbine. In addition to these first-crop stallions, the sale will also offer a large number of yearlings from proven Maritime stallions and sires from DE, NJ, NY, ON, OH, and PA. Start your shopping early and pick out your favorites in the preview book below:

A reminder to consignors that entry to the Atlantic Classic Sale closes on Friday, May 29th, 2026 at 5pm. Please do not leave your entry until the last minute in case there are issues or you require assistance. Sale staff will not be in the office on the weekend to assist you.

The Maritime Breeders Association wishes to advise all Maritime stallion owners who have submitted stallion contracts for the 2026 breeding season that stallion fees are due May 15, 2026. The required payment is $1,000 or the current stud fee, whichever amount is higher. Payments may be remitted by cheque to the Maritime Breeders Association or via e-transfer to [email protected]. For assistance regarding your payment, please contact Julie Jamieson at 902-569-1682.

The PEIHRIA would like to remind all Island horse people of the upcoming deadline for Yearling Stakes Payments of May 15th. Please be sure to check your email (inbox and junk folder) for the payment form as they are no longer sent via paper copy. Payments can be made via Credit Card through the Standardbred Canada Eshop or by mailing a cheque directly to Standardbred Canada.

The Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale would like to thank all consignors, buyers, bidders, and event staff for making the 2025 sale our most successful to date, setting a new record for sale gross of $1.92 million with an average of $13,120 per horse, as well as the highest priced pacing Filly and Trotter to date:

-Hip #89 Tobins Swiftie: Consigned by Wendell Williams and purchased by Donald MacRae for $72,000
-Hip #134 Earl Speed: Consigned by Danielle Henri and purchased by Donald MacRae for $59,000

This sale would not be possible without the dedication and hard work from everyone involved. Best of luck to everyone who purchased yearlings and to all breeders for the upcoming 2026 season!

Tobins Swiftie, Thebaddog top Exhilarating Atlantic Classic Sale

CRAPAUD, PE – The records kept rolling in during a hopping Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale at the Crapaud Exhibition Grounds in Crapaud, P.E.I.
The day produced a new all-time record gross of $1,928,500 and a new record setter for pacing fillies and for trotters.
Tobins Swiftie, a daughter of Somewhere Fancy from the heavy hitting producer Putnams MacKenzie, had the gavel drop at $72,000 to top the sale for new owner Donald MacRae. Consigned by Wendell Williams of Ellerslie, the filly is a sister to Atlantic Champions Tobins Brownie and Tobins Chester.
Thebaddog shared the spotlight in a tie for sale topper with a $72,000 purchase price for the son of Bulldog Hanover – Peaceful Deo, as Victor Puddy snagged the c**t from the Faith Gavin consignment of Sea Cow Pond, P.E.I.
The top priced trotter in the history of the Atlantic Classic Sale went through the ring as Hip 134 Earl Speed was purchased for $59,000. Donald MacRae signed the slip on the son of Muscle Through It out of $417,000 winner Scottish Cross from consigner Danielle Henri of Quebec.
The day started off with a new record opener as Hip 1 Woodmere Sinner was the highest priced opener in the history of the Atlantic Classic Sale selling for $25,000. The son of Malicious – Sinspirational was purchased by Wayne McGean and Dave Mercer from the Woodmere Farms consignment from Marshfield, P.E.I.
Sheeowtime Speed was another top seller for consignor Henri with a $46,000 price tag for the daughter of Somewhere Fancy – Betty Hill as Windemere Farms was the purchaser.
Debbie Francis and Debra Downing purchased Brouhaha Speed for $46,000 during the sale with the son of Somewhere Fancy – Eyre Hostess N consigned by Henri.
Another top seller from the Woodmere Farms consignment was Woodmere Eras selling to Mike Pollard for $41,000. The Somewhere Fancy gelding is out of the Rock N Roll Heaven mare Northern Fiesta.
Dancin Lady Lou held the mantle for Ontario bred fillies with the daughter of Dancin Lou – Abes Lady going to Josh MacDonald for $39,000 from the Tulach Ard Farm consignment of Nova Scotia.
“The day showcased the demand for Atlantic bred horses on the eve of a fantastic week of Atlantic Breeder’s Crown Finals,” said sale chair Nicholas Oakes. “Records were the theme of the day in Crapaud as buyers showed up in force to select their next chance at a champion as the future shines bright for the East Coast breeding business.”
The day had 147 yearlings pass through the ring for an average of $13,119.
