Today we celebrate 121 years since the formation of Rotary International — a global movement built on service, integrity, and the simple idea that we can create lasting change when we work together.

From those first meetings in Chicago to the thousands of clubs serving at a grass‑roots level today, Rotary has spent more than a century transforming communities, building peace, and lifting people up.

Here’s to the generations of Rotarians who have given their time, talent, and hearts to “Service Above Self,” and to the work still ahead of us. The magic of Rotary continues.

In the late 1950s, Rotary members began seeking ways to strengthen
these efforts through a Rotary-wide program designed to encourage
young people to get involved in service and develop their leadership
skills. After a few years of study under the direction of 1959-60 President
Harold Thomas, Rotary approved plans for the Interact program. In
November 1962, Rotary members helped students at Melbourne High
School in Melbourne, Florida, USA, to form the first Interact club. The
name “Interact” came from combining the words “international” and
“action.”

New District Governor Willis Frazer held his first rotary meeting at Midtown Memphis Rotary Club. It was a great meeting, and he was privileged to swear the new officers for 2025-26.They also participated in a community service project where they wrote words of encouragement on postcards for the children at Youth Villages Backpack program.Great job everyone!!!
