General Teamsters, Local Union 362 is proud to congratulate Zainab Rahmouni on being selected as a successful recipient of a 2026 James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship.

Zainab is the daughter of Brother Nabil Rahmouni, a Local 362 member employed by Tri-Line Carriers in the Calgary area.

The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in honour of longtime Teamsters General President James R. Hoffa and his service to the Union and its members. The Fund provides scholarships to the sons, daughters and financial dependents of Teamster members across Canada and the United States, helping the next generation of Teamster families pursue their educational goals.

Zainab will be attending the University of Calgary, where she will pursue studies in Biomedical Sciences.

Her selection as a scholarship recipient is an outstanding achievement and one that the entire Local 362 family can be proud to celebrate.

On behalf of the Officers, Executive Board, staff and membership of General Teamsters, Local Union 362, we congratulate Zainab and the Rahmouni family and wish her tremendous success in her studies and in the years ahead.

Congratulations, Zainab!
Your Teamsters family is proud of you.

🚨 Teamsters Canada is reacting to an investigation published today by La Presse, which reveals that more than 4,500 federal labour standards complaints were pending at the end of September 2025, over a third of them from the road transportation sector. Worse still, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) itself admits, in an internal document obtained by the newspaper, that its inability to crack down is fuelling the Driver Inc. scheme and signals to non-compliant companies that the consequences of their actions are negligible or non-existent.

These grim findings confirm what the union has been repeating for years: as long as the companies orchestrating the Driver Inc. scheme face no real consequences, they will keep stealing workers’ wages, depriving governments of tax revenue, and putting poorly trained drivers on our roads.

Teamsters Local 362 was proud to join the Building Trades of Alberta in welcoming Shadow Labour Minister Kyle Seeback and Alberta Members of Parliament for a tour of Calgary’s union training centres.

It was an excellent opportunity to showcase the strength of Alberta’s unionized industrial trades and the world-class training that prepares the next generation of skilled workers. Investing in apprenticeship, training, and a highly skilled workforce is essential to building safer workplaces, stronger industries, and a stronger Alberta.

Teamsters Local 362 is proud to stand with our Building Trades partners in supporting union training, skilled trades, and the workers who keep our province moving.

The BTA welcomes Prime Minister Mark Carney and Premier Danielle Smith's advancement of a new pipeline project for skilled trades workers.

This is the kind of nation-building project Canada needs: one that creates good-paying union jobs, supports apprenticeships, strengthens energy security, and shows what is possible when the federal government and the Government of Alberta work together.

Our members are ready to build this project to the highest standard.

We strongly support this partnership between Ottawa and Alberta, and we look forward to working with government, Indigenous partners, and industry to deliver this project. Read more from our link in the comments!
