🟢Good morning Members🟢

We received this request from a Member regarding his son undergoing life saving surgery and his inability to work while he recovers. Unfortunately not everyone has the same benefits we enjoy as Union members and with that in mind we are sharing Brother Mail’s request:

Hi my name is Stephen Mail (546) I have been with CT since 2008 have operated bus and train.
I have a big favor to ask from my union brothers and sisters. My son has had a life saving operation, but can't work for the next couple of months.

I am asking if you could go to https://gofund.me/ad4865765 and donate to help him with his bills, rent and food for him and his family.

I know it's been tough with the economy so if you can give anything it would be appreciated. If not then maybe just prayers.

Thank you from our family and his!

Stephen Mail

REMINDER!

On May 29th, 2026, Albertans across the province are coming together to protest the direction of the current Alberta provincial government and demand a future that puts people before corporate interests. All Albertans are invited to rally in solidarity against policies that threaten public health care, worker’s rights, pensions, and the environment. Protesters are encouraged to wear yellow as a symbol of solidarity, and to bring signs and noise makers to make their voices impossible to ignore.
The concerns driving this province-wide protest are wide-ranging and deeply felt: the expansion of AI data centres without public accountability, growing moves toward two-tier health care, cuts to and cancellation of benefits affecting vulnerable Albertans, attacks on labour protections, mining projects threatening the Rocky Mountains, stagnant wages amid rising costs of living, threats to public pensions, gerrymandering, and political efforts that stoke separatist division rather than address real issues facing everyday people. Organizers say the message is simple: Alberta belongs to its people, not just the powerful, and Albertans deserve a government that protects communities, public services, workers, and the land for future generations. RSVP for the event that matches your schedule! Officers of Local 583 will be attending the protest at Riley Park! Join us!
