If you ever suspect someone may be experiencing human trafficking, you don't have to know exactly what to do, but knowing how to respond safely matters.
Never confront a suspected trafficker yourself. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
For confidential support and guidance in Canada, the Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline is available 24/7 at 1-833-900-1010.
Sometimes, knowing where to turn can be the first step toward helping someone find safety.

Human trafficking is happening in communities around the world, including here in Canada.

Police-reported data shows that 22% of human trafficking victims were children and youth under 18.
22%. Children.

That should stop us in our tracks.

Behind that number are children whose safety, childhood, and futures have been impacted by exploitation. These aren't just statistics to scroll past—they represent real young people who deserve to grow up safe, free, and protected.

And 93% of victims were women and girls.

These numbers are heartbreaking, but they are also a call to action. We cannot become numb to the reality of human trafficking or assume it only happens somewhere else.
Awareness matters. Prevention matters. And protecting the vulnerable matters.
Let's keep talking about it. Let's keep learning. And let's keep working toward a world where no child has to experience exploitation.
