Hope in the Dark

Hope in the Dark Endeavoring to relieve poverty, advance education and share Jesus' love with children in Colombia. We learned of these realities and want to make a difference.

Did you know that children living in slums in Colombia often face hunger, sexual abuse and in most cases end up in gangs and with drug addiction problems? Or that teenage pregnancy and prostitution is always present in these slum communities? We long to see the future of Colombia transformed one child at a time. How will we do this? By helping children (and their families) from slums in Colombia-

in Bucaramanga and in Cartagena. The kids visit the center everyday where they can receive a meal, education, mentorship and training, spiritual teaching about God and psychological as well as medical help. Currently, on a given day we have ~140 children between both centres.

Our Story

Did you know that children living in slums in Colombia often face hunger, sexual abuse and in most cases end up in gangs and with drug addiction problems? Teenage pregnancy and prostitution are very common in these communities. We learned of these realities and wanted to make a difference. We long to see the future of Colombia transformed one child at a time. How will we do this? By helping children (and their families) from a slum in Bucaramanga, Colombia. The kids visit the Hope in the Dark center, Monday through Friday, where they can receive a meal, educational assistance, mentor-ship, psychological and medical help as well as teaching on God and the Bible. Currently, on a given day we have ~70 children at the center.
