Calgary Legal Guidance provides advice, representation, advocacy and support in the areas of criminal law, family law and domestic violence, landlord/tenant, homeless outreach, elder law, immigration law, human rights, civil law, child welfare (pre-apprehension), social benefits and administrative law to people in Calgary who cannot afford a lawyer or have been denied by Legal Aid.

Meet Billie, our youngest volunteer!

She was originally training to become a service dog but had to be retired early due to a medical condition (hip dysplasia). Billie is making a very meaningful difference in our Calgary Community Court Program. This friendly Labrador retriever brings comfort, calm, and companionship to our clients - whether she is lending a caring paw, joining someone for a comforting walk, or simply being a gentle presence when it is needed most.

Support can come in many forms. Sometimes, it looks like four paws, a wagging tail, and a gentle presence when it matters most.

We are so lucky to have Billie as part of our team. Drop a 🐾 in the comments to say hello.

🎸⚖️ A huge thank you to the organizers, performers, sponsors, and everyone who supported this year’s Great Bar Band Battle!

What began as a celebration of music and community within Calgary’s legal profession has become a powerful force for good. Through the incredible generosity of those involved, this event continues to support organizations working to improve access to justice in our community.

Since 2016, more than $250,000 has been raised for Calgary Legal Guidance, Student Legal Assistance, and Pro Bono Law Alberta—helping ensure more individuals and families can access the legal support they need.
