The Children's Aid Foundation of Halton provides resources to help children, youth and families thrive

The Children’s Aid Foundation of Halton (CAFH) is a registered charity, founded in 1990 to provide life-changing programs and activities to children and youth being cared for by the Halton Children’s Aid Society (Halton CAS). Programs allow the Halton CAS to provide additional services that enhance and enrich the lives of abused and neglected children and youth living in Halton.

Purple for every forecast! Today was , and we were ready for whatever the weather had in store.

Every October, children’s aid societies and Indigenous Child and Family Well-Being Agencies, together with their community partners, raise awareness about the importance of supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families through the provincial Dress Purple Day campaign.

This year’s theme, It Takes a Community, highlights how strong community connections and early support can help families before challenges become crises. It also reminds children and youth that they have a right to safety and well-being and that trusted adults and supports in their communities are .

💙 Happy Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day!

Today, we recognize and celebrate the dedicated Early Childhood Educators and child care professionals who make a difference in the lives of young children every day.

Your patience, compassion, creativity, and commitment help children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn and grow.

This year’s Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day theme is Care Counts, to centre the importance of care in early learning and child care and the pride that ECEs and child care workers feel in their work. There is no education without care.

Today and every day, we’re grateful for all that you do! 💙

Did you know that each year we host a Fall Feast for youth to gather and share a meal? That's because, for some youth living independently, there isn't a family home to return to or a familiar table to gather around.

We're thankful for these moments that remind young people they belong. 💛 We're thankful for spaces that make youth feel welcomed, supported, and connected.

We're also thankful to the many people who make moments like this possible. Your kindness and support help create a sense of belonging for youth, today and throughout the year.

Today, on the International Day of Older Persons, we recognize and celebrate the role older people have in caring for and mentoring young people.

This year's theme is: The Age of Longevity: Rethinking Systems for Longer Lives.
