Canadian Newa Guthi expresses its deepest sorrow at the tragic passing of the beloved father- in-law of, Jyoti Vaidya and father of Sangeeta Dhaubhadel, our Guthi’s life members and dedicated supporters.

Late Prof. Harsha Narayan Dhaubhadel, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. On behalf of all members of Canadian Newa Guthi, we extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Jyoti Vaidya and Sangeeta Dhaubhadel, and the entire bereaved family during this time of profound grief.

May the departed soul attain eternal peace, and may the family be granted strength, and courage to bear this irreparable loss. May God’s grace and blessings be upon you all.

The passing of Janakavi Durga Lal Shrestha is an irreparable loss to our nation, our literature, our culture, and to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Durga Lal was more than a celebrated poet and lyricist; he was a deeply loved voice of Nepal. Through his poems, songs, and timeless writings in Nepali and Nepal Bhasa, he inspired generations to see life with greater beauty, compassion, and humanity. His immortal words, including the spirit of “Phoolko Aankhama Phoolai Sansar,” will continue to resonate in the hearts of people for generations to come.
For the Canadian Newa Guthi, this loss is especially personal. Janakavi Durga Lal Shrestha was a close and cherished well-wisher of our community, and we remain deeply grateful that he shared a special poetic message for the 20th Anniversary Souvenir of Canadian Newa Guthi. His words and blessings will remain a treasured part of our history.
Today is a deeply painful day, not only for his family and loved ones, but for Nepalese everywhere. While his physical voice may now be silent, the legacy he created through a lifetime of extraordinary contribution to literature, music, language, and culture will never fade.

We extend our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to all members of the bereaved family. May the departed soul of Janakavi Durga Lal Shrestha rest in eternal peace.
