Hello to our amazing family, friends, and community members!

Thank you for purchasing a ticket to the Sarah Curia 7th Annual Picnic for Life! We kick things off tomorrow at Heart Lake Conservation Area - Lakemount Site 2 at 12:00 PM. Feel free to be a little early to secure a spot of your preference and sign up for our events. Below is some information that may help you enjoy the day even more!

The weather report for tomorrow is looking good with a high temperature of 21 degrees and a mostly sun filled sky throughout the day with a chance of some cooling showers just after noon. While there is a structure on site the usual sun protection is recommended as many of our games and tournaments will be happening in the open.

Please note if you have not already seen our communications: This year we will unfortunately not be able to provide our usual BBQ items for the lunch period. We strongly encourage those who are coming for the majority of the day to bring a cooler with food and drink that you and your family will need throughout. We plan on returning to our usual lunch options in 2025!

The entry fee for the park has been changed for all Toronto Regional Conservation Authority parks. Heart Lake is not an exception to these changes. Instead of charging the number of people, there is now a flat rate per vehicle. The price to enter can be similar or even better than previous years if you are carpooling with 3 or more individuals. If you can carpool, we recommend it!

Please note that we will be running our usual co****le (12:30PM) and bocce (2:30PM) tournaments for prizes! Sign ups for both will be filled as people swing through the registration table around noon and each bracket allows for 16 teams to enter (32 players). Aside from those events you can expect to see the following throughout the day with prizes for adults and kids alike:

Egg on a spoon race
Water balloon toss
Potato sac race
Tug of War
3 legged race
Water balloon launch challenge
Zumba
BINGO!
Curia Vs Guest Soccer Baseball (4:00PM)

Once again thank you all so very much for joining us in honour of Sarah's memory. A reminder that all of the ticket sales go directly towards Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma research at the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in Toronto. The portal will be open until Monday Night. We are excited to enjoy some fun in the sun with all of you!

It looks like our beautiful Sarah is sending us equally beautiful weather for our big celebration tomorrow! Don't forget about our cash 50/50 which helps us be able to run the picnic year after year!

The SCCO will not be providing BBQ items this year. We encourage all of our guests to bring any food or drink for their party on Sunday. Ticket prices have been reduced to reflect this change. We are excited to bring our BBQ items back next year.

ABOUT THE SARAH CURIA COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION The Sarah Curia Community Organization was founded in 2017 by Giovanni "Gio" Sanginesi, Nicholas "Nick" Curia and Roberto " Rob" Salvo to celebrate the life of our beloved Sarah Curia. Sarah was an amazing and beautiful young woman who throughout her two year battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma was a model of strength and determination to her family, friends and community.
