Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8 at 7 PM at the Doucet Hennessy House for a special benefit concert featuring bassoonist Alexander Urbina, Bathurst’s very own rising star!

Alexander has been selected to study at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London, England.

Admission is by voluntary contribution, with all funds raised supporting Alexander’s studies abroad. Come enjoy an evening of music and help support Alexander on this exciting next chapter!

“Shoutout to ClassikFest Chaleur - Bathurst Chamber Music Festival !!! In the hopes that even more people get to experience the beautiful artistry that these people bring to Bathurst.

I will be honest, last weekend was my first time going to the ClassikFest, I went on Sunday to hear the Bach and Souvenir from France concerts and was astonished by the talent of the musicians. Many times I had shivers and a sense of peace and joy like no other. The simple fact that I was able to hear Bach and other classical composers being performed live, gave me a sense of living like I haven’t experienced before.

I was utterly impressed by the Bach cello suite that was played entirely WITHOUT ANY MUSIC SHEET?!?!? I could have listened to the cellist for hours (but then I’m biased because it is my favorite instrument to listen to). The raw talent and skills from the many musicians of our province completely compelled me. In those few hours, I could simply be in their presence and the presence of composers who have lived before me, which is a weird kind of whimsical experience.

If you ask me, this musical festival is underrated, and I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it before last year. I will be eagerly awaiting it every year from now on!! 🎵🌸

A huge thank you Classikfest for bringing this experience to Bathurst, and to the organiser who I think the name is David? Sorry I am really bad at remembering names. 🥲

BY THE WAY, even if you are not a fan of classic music, please give them a chance next year, you won’t regret it. There’s something about live classical music that simply can’t be explained.”

And thus concludes the 14th annual ClassikFest Chaleur, Bathurst’s classical music festival!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us this year. Your presence, enthusiasm, and support are what make this festival possible—and we hope to see you back in the audience for many years to come!

We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful musicians, who worked so hard and shared their artistry and excellence with our community. Thank you as well to our host families, volunteers, host venues, and sponsors for everything you did behind the scenes to make this year’s festival a success.

ClassikFest is truly a community effort, and we couldn’t do it without you. ❤️
