This National Forest Week, our Urban Forestry team will be partnering with community-based service organizations on special tree planting projects throughout New Tecumseth. Together, we're helping grow a healthier, greener, and more resilient urban forest for future generations.

🚜 Ontario's agri-food sector supports more than 871,000 jobs and contributes nearly $51 billion to the province's economy.
🌻 Community gardens and urban agriculture help people connect with nature, learn new skills, and grow healthy food.

🌳 What the Town is doing:
🌲 Growing the Food Forest Program, creating spaces that provide food while supporting biodiversity and pollinators.
🏑 Encouraging community gardens, edible landscaping, and urban agriculture through the Town's Urban Design Guidelines.
🌾 Protecting agricultural lands and supporting farming through the Town's Official Plan.
🌎 Taking action through the Community Climate Action Plan to build awareness of sustainable food systems and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
