Something paw-some is happening in our community! 🐾

The Alliston & District Humane Society celebrated the grand opening on April 18th by unveiling their newly renovated and expanded shelter—and what a moment it was! Marked by a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, the day brought together donors, volunteers, and supporters to celebrate a project years in the making.

The new expansion introduces a bright, spacious community room for education programs, along with Liv’s Library—a heartwarming initiative created by a 9-year-old volunteer that invites children to read to cats. With the support of the Nottawasaga Foundation we were able to sponsor both the Adoption Room and Welcome Area in Reception — two vital spaces where hope and healing begin for hundreds of animals each year. The shelter also features a much-needed, open and welcoming cat area, replacing the previous cramped space, along with thoughtful renovations throughout the existing building to better accommodate dogs and small animals.

This incredible milestone is a true reflection of the compassion and generosity that runs through our community. We’re proud to have contributed to a space that will provide comfort, care, and second chances for so many animals in need.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this vision to life—here’s to brighter beginnings and many more happy tails ahead.💙

A major milestone for health care in our community! 🏥✨

Ground has officially been broken on the expansion of Stevenson Memorial Hospital — a transformational project that will more than double the size of the hospital and expand critical services for families across New Tecumseth and the surrounding region.

We are proud to help build a stronger future for health care in our region. 💚

A brighter future begins with the right support.

The Nottawasaga Foundation is proud to stand behind Next Step Literacy and their life-changing English as a Second Language program.

Next Step Literacy offers free one-to-one and small-group tutoring for adults looking to strengthen their reading, writing, math, computer skills, and overall confidence. With customized training plans and a supportive, confidential environment, learners are empowered to progress at their own pace and work toward greater employability and independence.

What began as a grassroots effort — The Literacy Council of South Simcoe — has grown into a dedicated community resource helping adults build skills, unlock opportunities, and move forward with confidence.

We’re grateful to support such meaningful work and invite you to join us in celebrating organizations that make a real difference in people’s lives. 💛
