We were sent these pictures (cleaned up with AI) from someone we did a birthday party for 16 years ago! This this would have been right before the new control alien species act came into place in British Columbia making all of the animals pictured illegal. Although we are not able to work with those animals anymore we are so happy that we created so many memories that clearly lasted!
Pictured are Helga the albino Burmese python, Kali the normal Burmese python, chainsaw the spectacled caiman and Mac the ring tailed lemur along with birtgday boy Noah!

🐾 Now Available: Double Rex "Hairless" Rats! 🐾
Looking for a unique, incredibly smart, and affectionate pet? Meet the Double Rex rat! Thanks to a double-copy of the curly gene, these guys are mostly hairless with adorable patches of velvety peach fuzz, curly whiskers, and massive personalities.
They are highly intelligent, easily trained, and love to snuggle for warmth!
📋 Quick Care Guide
Warmth: They get chilly easily! Keep them in a draft-free room (20°C to 26°C) and provide lots of fleece hammocks and blankets for nesting.
Safe Bedding: Use paper bedding or fleece liners. Avoid wood shavings, which can scratch their exposed skin.
Diet: They burn extra energy staying warm. Feed a high-quality rat block supplemented with extra protein and healthy fats (like boiled egg or avocado).
Social Needs: Rats are pack animals and must live in pairs or groups. (Bonus: a furry cage mate makes the perfect living heating pad!)

Rescue/surrender #41 for 2026.
Walter is a roughly 6 year old boa that was surrendered yesterday. His previous owner is moving away for university and it able to take him along. A huge thank you to Alex Thorley for picking him up in Nanaimo and bringing him to us! This is a good reminder that you should always consider how long an animals will live before buying or adopting. If you are young and planning on going to university, travelling and so on, you probably should not be getting a pet that can live 30 years.

Rescue/surrenders #39 & 40 for 2026
These are the last of the 13 arachnids that were surrendered. We are actually very excited about these two as they are not very common anymore. Emperor scorpions used to be everywhere and extremely cheap but when Africa stop the export and nobody was really breeding them it drove their price up and their availability down. Tailless whip scorpions are probably one of the creepiest looking arachnids but they are 100% harmless! They're literally is no way they can hurt you!
