The Mercy Center for Women is grateful to our case managers, Shannon, Colleen, and Client Services Director Anna Brzozowski. Mercy Center for Women is fortunate to have a team of domestic violence-certified counselors in-house.

As we recognize the month of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, remember the unity in bringing resources forward to the abused. We honor and remember those lives taken and the wonderful resources and partnerships our community shares. 90% of addiction survivors have a history of domestic violence.

Mercy Center for Women is fortunate to have wonderful partners to house individuals seeking treatment through their facilities.

Left to Right: Anna Brzozowski, Client Services Director; Shannon Getz, Case Manager; Colleen Flatley, Case Manager.

The Mercy Anchor Community Center (MACC) East is a hub of collaboration, partnership, and resources for Mercy Center for Women families and our greater community.

From housing and food access to family resources and beyond, it brings organizations together to help meet the needs of our neighbors. Take a look at the impact this space is making and how it continues to grow, reaching more individuals and families each day.

We are grateful for the partnerships that make this work possible and for the opportunity to serve our community together! Check out our community partners at: https://www.mcwerie.org/programs/mercy-anchor-community-center

Thank you, Toyota of Erie! Throughout September, they hosted a sales drive that raised an incredible $31,000 for Mercy Center for Women!

Special thanks to Bobby Preston, Amanda Walters, the Toyota of Erie team, and every community member who purchased a vehicle to support our mission. Your generosity helps us provide women, men, and children with safe, supportive, and empowering housing solutions.

One of the sweetest moments of our day was seeing a familiar face! One of our Mercy Center graduates stopped by on her own because she wanted to give back. Now taking her next steps at Brandy’s Corner Transitional Housing, her visit was a beautiful reminder of the impact of our mission.

Stop by PopLuck at 1535 W. 8th Street, Suite A3, Erie, PA 16505 to grab your favorite flavor or try our custom flavor, New Beginnings! Every purchase makes a difference.

Soar with the Angels. Sweet Lora. The Mercy Center for Women Team, Board of Directors, Families, and Alumnae share a moment of silence for a beautiful soul. We pray for the former Mercy Center Team, Christine Tombaugh, Carla Storrs, Megan Fogle Phillips, Mary Tobin, Phylis DiNicolia, and many others in her life.

The journey for Lora continued upon her graduation. Lora was named Alumna of the Year. A well-deserved honor. Lora never faded from the Mercy Center and included everyone as a part of her life. Lora was fierce and determined to fight every battle with dignity and grace.

Her journey was defined by her incredible strength; she held onto her recovery with grace and determination, proving what is possible with love and hard work. Lora championed bringing people together and staying close to family and friends. Lora stayed near the Mercy Center staff and graduates. A board member of the Community of Caring and a friend to many.

As a mother and wife, family came first. She valued keeping family safe, warm, fed, and grateful. Lora knew the meaning of giving back. Lora championed through difficult times. Lora was a nurse’s aide and loved by many. She was compassionate and took care of her patients. Every life mattered.

She walked out of her home on Friday expecting to return. Lora left our world as a hero, a protector, and a devoted family member. She carried the same love for her fiancé Jeremy and children Leeland, Ethan, Aunalyese, Aleah, and Jeremy Jr.

Lora, we honor you as a mother of an incredible heart, deep resilience, and boundless love. Above all else, she was a mother.

While her life was taken from us suddenly, darkness will not define her legacy to our community. Lora will be remembered for her kindness, her triumphs, her beautiful spirit, and the legacy of love she leaves behind to her children and all who knew her.

Remember, Lora taught us how to fight for the vulnerable, how to love without judgment, and how to choose courage every single day. Together, we will carry Lora’s fierce compassion with us in our daily lives.

Pray for the Harris family and the families taken from our community on Friday evening.

With love to Lora and her family ~ Mercy Center for Women
