Sunday, Pastor Cook continued our “Because He Is: Living in Light of Who Jesus Is” series in John 10:11–18, reminding us what it means to know Jesus as The Good Shepherd.

His Sacrifice
Jesus lays down His life for the sheep.
I can rest in His self-giving love.

His Relationship
Jesus knows His sheep and gathers others.
I can listen to His voice and welcome those He brings.

His Resurrection
Jesus has authority to lay down His life and take it up again.
I can trust the risen Shepherd.

But we don’t want to just hear the Word on Sunday. This week, let’s practice it.

Choose one area and respond:

His Sacrifice: Where do I need to rest in what Jesus has done?
His Relationship: Whom can I welcome as I listen to His Word?
His Resurrection: What fear will I bring to the risen Shepherd?

Then, throughout this week:

• Read John 10:11–18.
• Pray about one area.
• Take one faithful step.
• Give it five minutes a day.

This isn’t about earning God’s love. This practice responds to His grace; it does not earn His love.

As you move through this week, ask yourself: What would change if I really trusted the Good Shepherd in this area of my life?

There’s a place for you at Second Baptist tomorrow!

We’re continuing our Because He Is: Living in Light of Who Jesus Is series with “I Am the Good Shepherd” from John 10:11–18.

What does it really mean to have a Shepherd who knows you, loves you, and was willing to lay down His life for you? Pastor Cook will walk us through His Sacrifice, His Relationship, and His Resurrection.

Come worship with us, come expecting, and bring somebody with you!

We wrapped the first gathering of our three-day “Rooted In Love” Women’s Conference, and what a powerful way to begin!

Pastor Patricia “Pastor Pat” Keyes, Founder & Senior Pastor of Praise Tabernacle, Inc., reminded us that there is a difference between knowing about Christ and truly knowing Him. Deep roots are formed through relationship, intimacy and experiencing Him for ourselves.

Ephesians 3:17–19 speaks of being rooted and established in love and knowing the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge. And that matters because life will test what we’re rooted in. Storms will come. Winds will blow. Seasons will change. But when our roots run deep in the love of Christ, we may bend, but we don’t have to break.

Tonight ended at the altar, with women responding in prayer and laying down some of the things that have kept them from going deeper with God. It was a beautiful reminder that no matter how long you’ve been in church, whether you’re just beginning your faith journey, still asking questions, or simply searching for something real; there is always room to go deeper!

And this was only Night One! We’re getting ROOTED IN LOVE, in a love that is deep, everlasting, unwavering and constant!

We wrapped the first gathering of our three-day “Rooted In Love” Women’s Conference, and what a powerful way to begin!
