The Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) successfully held the 1st meeting of the Standing Committee for Women Entrepreneurship Development at the BMCCI Secretariat. This inaugural session was presided over by the Chairperson, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝘇𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗱𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘆.

The meeting primarily focused on strategies to increase the engagement of women entrepreneurs in bilateral trade between Malaysia and Bangladesh. Members discussed for enhanced business linkages, facilitate cross-border networking through trade fair, and identify high-potential sectors where women-led enterprises can elevate themselves, while the chamber can facilitate all potential collaborations. The committee expressed strong optimism regarding their initiatives and ensuring their active participation in upcoming trade fairs.

The 3rd BMCCI Board of Directors Meeting brought together our honorable Board Members at the BMCCI Conference Room. The meeting is presided by BMCCI President 𝐌𝐝. 𝐀𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐝 . The board has taken some impactful decisions from the collaborative discussions which may shape the dynamics of the bilateral trade and investment between Bangladesh and Malaysia. The Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) successfully held the 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 today at the 𝗕𝗠𝗖𝗖𝗜 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁. This inaugural session of this crucial committee was presided over by the Committee Chairman, Mr. Md. Zahirul Alam Bhuiyan. This timely meeting is a significant step in operationalizing the committee's mandate to elevate bilateral cooperation in potential service industries. Key highlights of the meeting included reviewing the Terms of Reference (ToR) to identify and prioritize sectors such as inbound tourism, healthcare, education, and the Halal ecosystem.

The 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐌𝐂𝐂𝐈 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧 was successfully concluded on July 4, 2026, at Banani Club. During the session, the Chairmen and Coordination Directors aligned their respective committees' visions with the broader strategic objectives of the Board for 2026-28. The collective resolution is to transform these committees into the driving force of the Chamber. 𝐌𝐫. Representative from BMCCI, the Board of Directors of Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI), paid a courtesy call on 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐫𝐮𝐥 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐦 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐲, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia.

They also attended the reception for the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh, *His Excellency Tarique Rahman*, with the Bangladeshi diaspora. The reception, organized by the Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia, was held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

BMCCI hosted a strategic meeting at the BMCCI Secretariat on June 23, 2026 to discuss the future of Bangladesh’s Halal economy. The discussion centered on the success of the recently concluded Dhaka Modest Fashion Expo (DMFE) 2026.

BMCCI President Md. Anwar Shahid, Joint Secretary General Md. Mamunur Rahman, Treasurer Ahmed Kabir, and Director Faizul Alam welcomed member of BMCCI Dr. Anika Tahsin Khan, Founder of Impact Arc Solutions (Organizer of DMFE 2026) and Mr. A.N.M. Khairul Anwar, Chairman & CEO of Paradigm Outsourcing. During the meeting, the leadership reviewed key insights gained from this expo and explored how it aligns with BMCCI’s long-term vision regarding the Halal ecosystem in Bangladesh. The leaders engaged in discussions on how Halal awareness and compliance can create new horizons for Bangladesh’s economy.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to collaborate closely on promoting and scaling the Halal industry.
