Free is a great price for trying something new. This school holidays, the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing wants SA kids aged 3–16 to put the screens down and pick up a ball, a bat, or a pair of running shoes instead.

Sessions running in Port Lincoln, the Riverland, Northern Adelaide councils and at SA Athletics Stadium throughout September and October.

The City of Port Lincoln invites applications for its Sport and Recreation grants through the Community Grant Funding Program.

The Sport and Recreation Grant supports local sport and recreation initiatives that foster grassroots activation, participation and sustainability. Community groups can apply for grants of up to $5,000 until midday on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, for initiatives being undertaken within the 2026-27 financial year.
