Applications are now open for our SRC to Bronze Medallion school holiday state intensive course! 🎉

The four-day course provides participants with skills and knowledge related to surf awareness, aquatic rescue operations, radio operations, resuscitation, emergency care, spinal management, communication, teamwork and Surf Life Saving patrol operations.

In addition, members will obtain the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid qualification 🧰

Fifty women from every state and territory are embarking on a 12-month journey of leadership, learning and connection through the SLSA Women’s Mentoring Program.

With 25 mentors paired with 25 mentees, Cohort 8 will build confidence, leadership capability and networks that extend far beyond the program - helping shape the future of Surf Life Saving.

With more than 300 women having now participated in the program, the ripple effect of women supporting women continues to grow ❤️💛

Last Thursday, key leaders, teams and organisations from across South Australia’s aquatics industry gathered at Glenelg Golf Club for the 2026 South Australian Aquatics Conference & Awards 🙌

Hosted by Surf Life Saving SA, Royal Life Saving SA and AUSTSWIM SA, the event provided an opportunity to connect and collaborate on key industry issues, water safety, drowning prevention, swimming education and the delivery of safe aquatic facilities 🏊🏼‍♂️

The day began with a Welcome to Country from respected Kaurna Elder Ivan-Tiwu Copley OAM, before MC Molly Rose guided attendees through an engaging program centred around this year’s theme - The Future Starts With Us.

It was a privilege to be joined by keynote speakers Sam Fricker and Mark Mathews, who captivated attendees with their experiences and insights on resilience, goal setting, courage, overcoming fear and practicing gratitude 👏🏽

Alongside the keynote presentations, over 100 attendees also took part in practical sessions, shared ideas, strengthened industry connections and joined the broader conversation about the future of aquatics.u

We also celebrated the achievements of the individuals and organisations making a meaningful impact across South Australia’s aquatics industry. Congratulations to all award winners and finalists recognised for their valuable work! 🎉

So much to take away from the 2026 Member Education Conference! 🌊

From reconnecting and sharing ideas to exploring new initiatives, innovations and hands-on skills, the conference was all about learning, growing and strengthening Member Education across SA🙌

What a weekend of learning, connection and all things Member Education!

Over the weekend, more than 100 Trainers, Assessors, Facilitators and Chief Instructors came together for the 2026 Member Education Conference 🎉

It was an action-packed and highly valuable two days, with essential updates, hands-on training, a demonstration of a brand-new assessor’s app supported through aXcelerate, pre-season preparation and skills maintenance planning. Attendees also gained national and state education updates, lifesaving insights and professional development tailored to TAF, as well as the opportunity to complete CPR and ART assessments ❤️‍🩹

Just as importantly, the conference provided an opportunity for our lifesavers to connect, share knowledge and network with leaders and members from clubs across our metro, midcoast, southern and regional areas.

A huge thank you to Tracey Hare-Boyd from SLSA for attending, and to the more than 20 Member Education volunteers and SLSSA staff who gave up their time over the weekend to help deliver sessions and make the conference possible.

An incredible team effort across the board. Thank you, and we look forward to continuing this vital work throughout the 2026/27 season! 🙌
