🌾 Farmers Learning from Farmers – Free Online Workshops 💻

With warm weather and dry conditions setting in, Local Land Services has launched a new free online series — Lessons from the Land — helping farmers prepare for and manage drought.

Run through the Drought Adoption Officer Program, the workshops offer practical insights and real stories from local farmers on drought management, planning, and recovery.

📅 Sessions run until 11 November, covering sheep, cattle, mixed farming and cropping.

It’s National Turtle Month!

Every November, Australians come together to celebrate and protect our incredible freshwater turtles. Sadly, many turtle populations have dropped dramatically due to habitat loss, road deaths, and nest predation by foxes.

You can help!
• Report turtle sightings and nests on the TurtleSAT app
• Watch for turtles crossing roads — and help them safely cross in the direction they’re heading
• Protect nests with mesh or alert local wildlife groups
• Share what you learn to spread awareness

Turtles play a vital role in keeping our waterways healthy — and they’ve been around for over 200 million years. Let’s make sure they’re here for generations to come. 💚
