Our committee has representatives of our local communities that are gay/lesbian, bi/pan, gender diverse including non-binary, genderfluid and transgender, and allies.

The world has no place for discrimination of any kind including discrimination against someone for their sexual and romantic orientation and their gender identity.

We’ve updated our US travel advice to reflect the continuing rollout of anti-trans policies in US visa and border processes.

Travel to the US continues to carry serious risks, particularly if you hold a passport with an X gender marker, have updated your gender markers since birth or have a track record of LGBTIQ+ activism or other political activity.

Our advice also includes tips on how to manage risks if you must travel to the US.

New scientific research confirms what trans and gender diverse people and their health professionals have known for a long time.

Access to gender affirming medical care is good for mental health - and now we know it’s so good that it even saves the health system money.

Before I was elected to Parliament, I provided gender-affirming care as a GP in Albury-Wodonga. There are some excellent providers in NSW, but access is patchy and can be expensive. The government should do more to support gender affirming care to be provided through mainstream health services.
