🎓 $1,000 scholarships available for students living in social housing!

Applications are now open for the 2027 Youth Development Scholarships, helping young people living in social housing or out-of-home care with the costs of education.

Up to 1,600 scholarships worth $1,000 each are available to support eligible students with expenses such as:
✏️ Textbooks and study materials
✏️ School uniforms and equipment
✏️ Tutoring and additional learning support
✏️ Other education-related costs

The scholarships are open to eligible high school students and returning tertiary students living in social housing or out-of-home care.

Last week, we were pleased to welcome staff from the 123 Community Hub in Broken Hill to The Meeting Place for a special community lunch.

It was a wonderful opportunity for staff and community members to come together and share some delicious homemade pizzas prepared by chef Steve!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so enjoyable!

A big cheer for Michelle from all of us at The Meeting Place!

We are lucky to see the difference OzHarvest makes in our community every week, so it’s wonderful to see Michelle and Home in Place supporting such a great cause.

We’re cheering on our own Michelle Faithfull at today’s OzHarvest CEO CookOff!

And she’s in good company, rubbing shoulders with celebrity chefs Miguel Maestre and Colin Fassnidge!

Home in Place is proud to sponsor our Events & Partnerships Manager, Michelle, as she works towards her $5,000 fundraising goal for OzHarvest through her Ultimate Foodie Raffle.

We see the difference OzHarvest makes every week. Our Central Coast community hub, The Meeting Place, receives between 200 and 400kg of rescued food each week, which is shared with local community members through our Shack Shop and other programs.

Spring has sprung in our community garden! 🌼🌱

With tomatoes on the vine, strawberry plants, young corn and flowers adding a splash of colour, our garden beds are looking lovely in the spring sunshine!

A big thank you to everyone who helps plant, water and care for our garden. It’s wonderful to see your hard work growing into something we can enjoy together.
