🌊 BIG SWIMMING NEWS 🌊

What a swim! 👏

Last night at the 2026 Australian Swimming Trials, Southern Sports Academy's Sienna Toohey delivered one of the swims of the meet - clocking 1:05.97 in the 100m breaststroke final to take the win, break the Australian age record (previously held by the legendary Leisel Jones), and book her spot on the team for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacific Championships. 🏊‍♀️

Only the third Australian woman ever to break 1:06 in the event. The fifth fastest time in the world this year. And she's 17. 🤯

🏆 NORTH VS SOUTH CUP 🏆

The 2026 Regional Academies of Sport Jack Newton Junior Golf North vs South Cup has wrapped up at Leura Golf Club, bringing together the state’s top pre-elite junior golfers for three days of high-level competition in the Blue Mountains.

👏 Huge congratulations to the North Team, who came away with the win after an outstanding team performance across the weekend.

This annual event continues to showcase the strength of the Regional Academies of Sport and Jack Newton Junior Golf pathway, providing talented young athletes with the opportunity to compete, develop and represent their regions on a big stage.

A fantastic effort from both teams - the future of golf in NSW is looking bright! ⛳

🙌 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK 🙌

This week, we celebrate the incredible people who make Regional Academies of Sport possible - our coaches, managers, and support crew who give their time so our athletes can thrive.

In 2025, 484 volunteers across the RAS network showed up for our athletes, and showed up BIG.

That's 58,000+ hours of dedication, expertise, and heart poured into developing the next generation of Australian sport.

To every volunteer who has given their time, knowledge, and passion to RAS - thank you.
