This is what your year to volunteer looks like. Two people who have shown up, pitched in, and kept showing up, year after year.

Volunteering with Scouts gives you so much more than you might expect. It gives you a community that has your back, skills you carry into every part of your life, and the deep satisfaction of knowing the time you give genuinely shapes young people for the better. Thank you for being exactly that kind of volunteer. We are so glad you are here.

๐Ÿ’ Happy Motherโ€™s Day ๐Ÿ’

Today we celebrate all the incredible mums in our Scouting community, from the Leaders who give their time to support and inspire young people, to the mums and carers guiding, encouraging and helping shape the journey along the way.

Our tiny town of Trafalgar thrives when we have dedicated volunteers backing not just our Scouts group, but across all of our local sports and community organisations. We see the effort and energy you put in week after week and we are grateful.

Thank you for the care, dedication and support you bring every day. Our community wouldnโ€™t be the same without you.

We hope you feel appreciated today and every day ๐Ÿ’›

Happy Star Wars Day! Tonight our Cubs kicked off in style, donning capes, helmets and masks, and trying out our home made light sabres with some epic battles in the hall. One Cub even brought a baby Yoda to show off and another brought a baby Ewok. Note our "flag" hanging high above isn't our usual ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ since we weren't in official uniform.

It wasn't all fun and games though. We got down to business practising our listening skills, safety and body awareness with our light sabres, orienteering with star wars planets as compass points, following instructions with character actions and we learned a thing or two with some movie trivia. Did you know the alien from ET recognised a star wars costume?

We also fit in some Cuboree prep: Team building activities in the form of a sleeping bag relay and a light sabre balloon scoring game. We further developed our sense of camaraderie between cubs and leaders as we look towards spending a whole week together in late September.

This week the Cubs have some homework: Pack a day bag and live out of it for the entire weekend. Clothes, activities, toiletries. No exceptions if you've forgotten something! We look forward to hearing how they went.

The information night for Cuboree is tomorrow at 7pm, don't forget to reserve your spot - register for the online session via the link below!

Take a moment to read this incredible story about former 1st Trafalgar Scout Leader Frank Waterton, sharing his experiences with the Royal Australian Air Force and in post-war Japan. Itโ€™s an inspiring reminder of resilience, dedication, and the lasting impact heโ€™s had on our community.

Thank you Wombat for sharing with us.

๐ŸŽ–๏ธ ANZAC Day โ€“ Lest We Forget ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ

The 1st Trafalgar Scout Group โšœ๏ธ, like many across Australia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ, proudly answered the call during World War I, as members of our first scout troop enlisted to serve their country.

They carried the spirit of Scouting โšœ๏ธโ€”loyalty, resilience, and mateshipโ€”into war. Sadly, not all returned home ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ.

Today, we remember those who served and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Lest We Forget.

This Earth Day is all about getting involved and doing your bit. The 2026 theme, Our Power, Our Planet, is a reminder that together we can make a real difference.

At Scouts Victoria, one simple way weโ€™re making a difference is through the Container Deposit Scheme (CDS). Every container returned helps reduce waste, protect our environment, and keep our communities clean, all while raising funds for local Scout Groups.

Small actions add up. Collect, return, recycle and be part of something bigger.

Together, we have the power to create a greener future.
