💜 ONE MORE SLEEP, GIPPSLAND! SUNDAY 30 AUGUST - Wear it Purple with Gippsland Pride! 💜

This Sunday, 1pm to 4pm, we're throwing open the doors of Stadium 34, one of the last dedicated roller skating rinks left in Victoria, let alone Australia. That alone makes it a pretty special afternoon.

But whether you're a roller skating enthusiast or not, tomorrow is about our community coming together. Cranking some tunes, checking out stalls and community groups, grabbing a cookie from the Pride team, snapping a photo with a mate, and reminding each other that there's real support, connection and joy out there when we need it.

Tickets will be available on the door, but grab yours at the discounted price via Humanitix now, and they include skate hire too.

Wear It Purple Day is one of the biggest days on the LGBTQIA+ calendar, and Gippsland has been so lucky this year with beautiful events happening right across the region. Sunday is another chance to add a bit more colour, welcome and love into the world, right when we need it most.

No early entry, doors open 1pm sharp. We'll see you there. 🟣

Happy Wear It Purple Day, Gippsland! 💜

Wear it Purple Day is about making sure every LGBTQIA+ young person knows they're seen, supported and never alone. This year, we want Sunday to be about courage, whether that's wearing your brightest outfit, consider trying roller skating for the first time, or simply showing up and making a new connection.

There are some extraordinary events happening right across our region this week, and this weekend especially, with so much to choose from. We're beyond excited to be welcoming community to this Sunday, from 1pm to 4pm.

There's an amazing array of stallholders, services and community groups getting involved in this special community event. Picture tunes, chats, nibbles, freebies and giveaways, roller skating and on-wheels activities for those keen to join in, and a genuinely good opportunity to connect and recognise this important day on the LGBTQIA+ calendar.

Membership for Gippsland Pride Initiative 2026-2027 is now open!

Want to keep updated with all things ? Both paying and no cost memberships are available and now accepting applications for 2026/2027.

Membership is an opt-in way for like-minded folks to help shape our organisation, keep up to date with activities and events, identify opportunities to volunteer or participate, and contribute to LGBTQIA+ inclusion and advocacy in Gippsland, and so much more.

If you want to:

▪️enjoy special member discounts on merch and the Annual Pride Gala!
▪️get first dibs on getting involved, be the first to know about volunteering, region specific connection and learning opportunities, social opportunities, consultation and survey openings.

This Sunday - Wear it Purple with Gippsland Pride!

Wear it Purple Day began in 2010, started by young people who wanted LGBTQIA+ youth to know they were supported and not alone. It's since grown into an international movement.

Wear It Purple Day is a chance to mark one of the most important days on the LGBTQIA+ calendar, especially given everything going on in the world right now. It's about knowing you're safe, valued and celebrated exactly as you are, at any age.

Join us - Wear it Purple with Gippsland Pride

To mark the day, we're hosting a community gathering at Stadium 34 in Moe

▪️When: Sunday 30 August, 1pm to 4pm. Entry isn't permitted before 1pm, and we'll wrap up by 4pm
▪️Where: Stadium 34, 34 Bell St, Moe
▪️Tickets: $20 adult, $10 concession/Forever Rainbows, $5 all young people under 18, on site skate hire included for anyone who wants to skate

Come along and have a cruise around the rink where it all began, years ago with Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby

And if skating's not your thing, there's plenty to do. Visit a range of stalls, services and community groups, grab a cuppa or something to eat from the on-site café (food not included in ticket price), or just come to connect with other q***r folk and allies. However you spend the day, we just want you there.
