It’s Friday- or FRI-YAY as we prefer to call it here at Frankies Community Kitchen….And here’s a throw-back to last years Gala, as shot by the wonderful Gabrielle Rosette Photography

Our Gala is held in November each year, and is an extremely important part of our fundraising efforts here at Frankies Community Kitchen.

Keep your eyes peeled for all our Gala news - let’s make 2026 the BIGGEST and most SUCCESSFUL yet.

After a bit of a tangle/tango with our garage door this morning, and coming out worse for wear, we managed to get help from the wonderful Dave’s Garage doors…. The team dropped everything to fix the door and volunteered their time too. Thank you Dave.

So please keep them in mind should have a tango/tangle with your garage door!

We’ve got a new van!!! Thanks to the very generous support of the Andrew’s Foundation (Pakenham), Cardinia Community Foundation, Lions Club Warragul, and Jen and Tim Modra. Thank you all, what a difference a new van will make to our deliveries and picking up supplies.

We are very much looking forward to the team at Ultrasigns wrapping the wonderful design work of TheHypeSociety Digital Marketing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Calling all amazing content creators….Frankie Community Kitchen needs YOU! We are looking out for a local creator, to help volunteer and capture our Gala evening this year….

The Gala is an incredibly important event in the Frankies CK calendar, as it helps raise much needed funds that keeps the Kitchen humming.

If you can help out, please DM us here at Frankies CK to organise - the Gala date for this year is November 13th Friday night 7am start.

Heads down, sleeves rolled up meant we made 1,605 quiches and packed 386 soups 🙂

THE COMMUNITY KITCHEN RESCUES GOOD FOOD AND PREPARES WHOLESOME MEALS FOR PEOPLE IN NEED

Based in Warragul, Frankies Community Kitchen supports families in need in Gippsland and Cardinia by making wholesome meals with quality ingredients which would otherwise go to waste.

We are powered by the generosity of good people who donate quality produce for our meals and amazing volunteers who use their hands and their hearts to make a difference.

A huge thank you to the good people at St Paul’s Grammar school. As a result of their food drive, they have recently donated a whopping -

Minced Garlic - 48.8kg
Diced Tomatoes - 204kg

To give you an idea of the impact of these numbers, we currently use 32 cans of 400g (12.8kg) for each pie cook we do.

In total the St Paul’s food drive has given Frankies Community Kitchen enough diced tomatoes to cook 16 weeks’ worth of pie fillings. (Each week the community kitchen can make between 1,155 - 1,215 pies, so times that number by 16 weeks is 18,480 - 19,440).

St Paul’s also donated a lot of ‘other’ items which we will use to help add more flavour to pasta, rice and soup meals.

From the bottom of our heart - Thank YOU St Paul’s, your generosity will go A LONG way to helping us feed those in need.

It was such a joy to welcome Annie back to Frankie’s Community Kitchen this week. 💛

Anne is one of our most dedicated volunteers and a much-loved part of the Frankie’s family. She has been away for the past six weeks, so it was wonderful to see her walk through the doors again on Wednesday - bringing her trademark puns, plenty of laughs and great conversation.

She’d barely hung up her bag before she was keen to try out our brand-new Robot Coupe, generously funded through a recent SilverChef grant. Safe to say, she was right back where she belongs!
Welcome back, Annie. We’ve missed you. 💛
