BANK CARDS CAN NOW BE USED ON GIPPSLAND TRAINS
From last Sunday (7 June), V/Line travellers can now ‘tap on and off’ for their train fare between Traralgon and Southern Cross using their physical bank cards, smart phone, or smart watch

At the moment, this is limited to trains and full fares only.

‘Tap on and off’ does not apply to concession users, seniors and youth under 18, so those travellers are advised to continue using their designated myki as all ‘tap and go’ are charged at full price.

03/06/2026

A reminder that Victoria’s free public transport’s last day was Sunday just gone (31 May).

Users of public transport must again tap on and off with their Myki card.

Fares are half price for the remainder of this year

Come and hear about wastewater upgrades for Yarragon and Trafalgar

Locals will have the chance to speak with Gippsland Water staff about major upgrades to Yarragon and Trafalgar’s wastewater networks at the Yarragon Craft and Produce Market this month.

Community members can learn more about the upgrades and provide feedback and insights on their water and wastewater services, on Saturday, 23 May.

The Factory Road sewage pump station in Yarragon will be upgraded and a new 8.5-kilometre sewer main will be constructed to connect the site to the sewage pump station on Eight Mile Road in Trafalgar.

Community members will also be able to sign up to the organisation’s Sounding Board, where they receive invitations to engagement activities that guide future decisions and outcomes.

For more information on the Factory Road project, visit www.gippswater.com.au/yarragonwastewaterupgrade.
