Meet Sandie & Stevie 💁‍♂️🙆‍♀️ It's a rare occasion to see one without the other, as this pair of twins have been totally inseparable since day one. You'd call Sandie the sassy twin, thanks to his dramatic antics and witty responses, especially when Dani's getting under his skin. While Stevie is the wild card, willing to get her hands dirty and fight everyone or anything when necessary.

Usually, the twins are happy sticking tight to each other, but maybe there's no better time to grow apart than right now?

Introducing Peter 🍭 The total opposite to his rule-following big sister Maddie, Peter is loud, dramatic and believes no lolly should ever go to waste. His parents run a strict ship back home, so for Peter, Grandma's House is an escape from the quinoa, pumpkin seeds and rules. It's a place where he is free to snack, nibble and stuff his face with whatever processed, high fructose corn syrup filled gelatin blobs he can find. So, what happens when this visit he finds Grandma's never ending lolly jar is...empty?

Take a trip over the fence and meet Erin 📢 along with her little brother Cian, she lives next door to Grandma's House. There's not much to do in a town that basically expired 20 years ago, so Erin and Cian keep themselves busy visiting the old lady next door and counting down the days until her Grandkids visit again. But as goodbyes loom closer, the reality of being left behind starts to set in for Erin - so equipped with a megaphone and a clipboard she's ready to do anything she can to put a stop to the inevitable.

"Look oldest is impressive, but oldest girl deserves some extra recognition." Introducing Maddie 🌞 The oldest daughter of the oldest daughter, Maddie was literally born to be in charge. She's wise behind her years, incredibly observant, and a natural leader- if only anybody would listen to her! The 'golden child' of the family, Maddie knows how to follow the route that will keep the adults happy, but getting her cousins to stick with her is the real challenge.

Introducing Ed 🕶️ The too cool, totally nonchalant big brother and oldest of the cousin pack. He's way too grown up for the little baby games his cousins want to play (at least until Erin from next door joins in), and loves to think of himself as the boss (until things get too hard, then Maddie can take over).

Despite his grown demeanour, Ed knows that looking our for his younger cousins and sisters is the best job he'll ever have, even when they're being seriously annoying.

Grandma’s House is a funny, heartfelt celebration of being young, being family, and the things that stay with us even after we say goodbye.

Our 2026 Junior Assistant Majella knows personally about the magic of the Junior IMPACT program, having been a part of three Ensembles since 2022. This year she’s stepped into the role of Junior Assistant Creative with ease, guiding the young cast with her experience and incredible energy.

Last Wednesday, The Empire lawn erupted with teenagers pouring from The Armitage doors following Red Leap Theatre's production of "Dakota Of The White Flats". The hum of hundreds of teenagers electrified by what they'd just seen echoed down Neil Street as the collective of local teachers attempted to navigate their own post theatre excitement while filtering hoards of chattering teenagers back in the right cars.

Our Highlighter Josh "Jo" (16 years) puts spectacularly into words what made Dakota Of The White Flats resonate with every person in the audience that night. Go check our Jo's full review over on The Empire > Youth Arts website.
