Lifeline Darling Downs & South West QLD Ltd

Lifeline Darling Downs & South West QLD Ltd We offer a broad range of services focused on strengthening communities and empowering people. For Our Values: Integrity. Dignity. Openness. Honesty.

Lifeline Toowoomba, as it was originally known, was formed by a group of ministers in 1975. It was developed to establish a 24 hour telephone counselling service for the people of Toowoomba. Lifeline Darling Downs & South West Queensland Ltd (LDDSWQL) is now a company limited by guarantee, governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. A large regional NGO (non government organisation), with 160 plus

paid staff, over 400 dedicated volunteers, an annual turnover exceeding $12M per annum and covering an extensive area with a population of approximately 255,000 people, LDDSWQL is committed to sustainable growth that works within the parameters of its Vision, Mission and Values. We partner with the wider community, working from a strengths based approach. That is, working with people in order to empower them to make the best possible decisions in their own life, and for their own community. A values based organisation, it remains committed to ensuring people always remain its focus. LDDSWQL relies on financial support from local communities, corporate sponsors and the Queensland State and Federal Governments. You can help support the services LDDSWQL provides by making donations through our clothing bins, shopping with our wide network of retail shops, making a cash donation or through in-kind support such as through volunteering. Accountability. Respect

This Men’s Health Week, let’s keep making space for honest connections.

Distress doesn’t always show up clearly, and reaching out doesn’t always feel easy.
Checking in, listening openly, and staying connected can help support feel more possible.

To the men reading this: your feelings matter. It’s okay to ask for help, and you don’t have to handle things on your own.

If you need support, please call Lifeline anytime on 13 11 14, or text us on 0477 13 11 14, or visit -

for our online chat service or for resources to self - manage what you’re going through. All our crisis support services are available 24/7.

For many men, distress doesn’t appear suddenly or clearly. It can build quietly over time, shaped by pressure, isolation, and expectation about coping, which can make recognising the need for support or asking for it harder.

That’s why readiness matters. Support needs to be flexible, responsive, and available when someone does reach out, in whatever way they can. Lifeline offers free support 24/7 by call, text or chat:

💙 Men’s Health Week | 15–21 June 💙

Physical health and mental health are deeply connected; you can’t separate the two.
When physical health declines, mental well-being often follows. In Australia, men continue to experience significant health challenges:

🔵Men are less likely than women to seek help for mental health concerns.
🟠Around 1 in 5 men experience a mental health condition each year.
🔵Men are nearly twice as likely as women to experience substance use disorders.
🟠Men are also significantly overrepresented in su***de statistics and less likely to reach out for support early.

This Men’s Health Week, we encourage men across our region to check in on themselves and each other:

🔵Book that health check
🔵Talk about how you’re really going
🔵Stay connected
🔵Reach out before things reach breaking point

You don’t have to do it alone.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our recent Lifeline Darling Downs Pop-Up Store at Uni SQ yesterday!

Thanks to our incredible shoppers, volunteers, and supporters, the event was a fantastic success. From finding hidden treasures to giving pre-loved items a new home, every purchase helped make a real difference.

Despite the cold and rain, we loved seeing so many members of our community come together for a great cause.
