Today we had the pleasure of celebrating 40 years of The Haven. Over the years, we have been privileged to work alongside The Haven and witness firsthand the incredible support they provide. Their commitment to ensuring that everyone has a safe place, a helping hand and someone who cares makes such a difference to the lives of so many in Toowoomba. We are incredibly grateful for the work they do and the difference they continue to make.

As part of a finance and budgeting unit our seniors cooked lunch for themselves and others. They had previously researched recipes, budgeted and purchased ingredients themselves. This was the practical test of preparing a healthy meal on a budget. Topped with fresh parsley from the college garden.

Today we celebrate All Saints’ Day, honouring all the saints, known and unknown, who inspire us through their lives of faith, courage, love and service.

We are reminded that we are all called to live lives of holiness — loving generously, serving others and bringing Christ’s light into the world.

It has been a wet few weeks for Toowoomba with 143mm of rain at GSC. This did not deter the Horticulture team as they were indoors learning about small engines used in Horticulture.

Our new bus is longer so we needed to temporarily widen a corner of our driveway. In true industry fashion the Horticulture team accepted the challenge. Job ready!

Some of our Year 9 and 10 students experienced a job information session with the Toowoomba Regional council this week as part of our current careers focus. They received an insight into the processes and job opportunities with TRC as well as more tips on resumes and job applications. Some of our young people enjoyed one on one discussions with potential employment recruiters.
