Training Night – Road Crash Rescue (RCR) 🚒
On Monday night, our members continued developing their Road Crash Rescue (RCR) skills, with the focus on patient disentanglement from a trapped vehicle.
The session covered safe and methodical techniques to create access while maintaining patient care and scene safety throughout the rescue. These are highly perishable skills that require regular training, teamwork, and clear communication to ensure we're ready when the community needs us.
It was great to see members of all experience levels working together, with our more experienced firefighters sharing their knowledge and mentoring newer members throughout the evening.
A big thank you to our mates at Tom Price Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade for providing the location as well as everyone who attended and helped make another valuable training night possible. Every session strengthens our capability and preparedness to respond when it matters most.
A big thanks also to the hospital construction team next door for simulating a violent crash for us, with some heavy machinery imparting some rapid vehicle modification’s
