😥 🌧️ June 14th Market Cancelled🌧️ 😥

Weather wins this one.

With the wet weather, waterlogged grounds, and a very wobbly weekend forecast, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Tomorrows market, The Channon Craft Market, Sunday, 14 June 2026.

We know this is disappointing for our stallholders, visitors, makers, bakers, growers, musicians, community, and everyone who was ready for a winter wander through The Channon.

Thank you for your understanding while we waited, watched, and wished the weather would work with us.

We will see you back under the trees next month for a proper market morning.

What’s with the wild, wobbly weather?

We’re watching the wet stuff, waiting for the weather to work itself out, and wishing the wind and water would wander elsewhere.

At this stage, The Channon Craft Market is still planned to go ahead this Sunday in The Channon, 9am to 3pm.

We’ll keep watching the weather window and will write another update if the weekend weather has other wild ideas.

For now, warm jumpers, waterproof shoes, winter wandering, and a watchful eye on this page are the wise way forward.

This Sunday, slow down for the morning and come out to The Channon Craft Market.

There will be plenty to browse, plenty to eat, and probably at least one thing you did not come looking for but suddenly very much need.

Not the post we wanted to make, but here we are.

Over the last month, one of The Channon Craft Market’s storage areas has been broken into, and our main red hexagon marquee used for our performers has been stolen. (Large Red One)

As if that was not disappointing enough, someone has also decided the grassed area near the playground was the perfect place to do burnouts and tear up the ground.

This is not just an inconvenience. The Channon Craft Market is a not-for-profit community organisation. We work hard to keep our stall fees as low as possible, which means we do not have disposable income sitting around to simply replace stolen assets.

That marquee was part of how we support live performers at the market, providing shade and a proper space for music and entertainment. We are now investigating what we can do for our performers at next month’s market.

Stealing from the market and damaging the grounds hurts the whole village.

We are asking locals to keep an eye out. If someone you know has recently acquired a large red hexagon marquee they definitely did not have a month ago, we would be very interested to hear about it.

Any information can be passed on to us privately.

We would love to see the marquee returned and the damage stop. The Channon deserves better than this.

If you are planning a visit to The Channon Craft Market this Sunday, make a morning of it. Wander slowly, talk to stallholders, choose something made or grown with care, and enjoy a bit of village market life.
