NOOSA TRAILBLAZERS MTB CLUB – AGM 2026
Sunday 22nd November at 2:30pm
Tinbeerwah Hall
Hi Everyone,
It's that time of year again, and I'd like to encourage as many members as possible to come along to our upcoming AGM.
The Noosa Trailblazers is more than just a mountain bike club. We're a community of riders, families and volunteers who all share a passion for mountain biking and keeping our fantastic Wooroi trail network in good condition for everyone to enjoy.
This year we're looking for a few more people to get involved with the club. Nothing too demanding, just a small commitment of time here and there to help keep things running.
A couple of roles we'd particularly like some help with are:
Social rides – Someone who would be happy to organise and lead the occasional social ride, giving members a chance to get together and enjoy the trails.
Fiver rides and BBQs – Someone who could help organise some casual Fiver rides followed by a BBQ. Nothing too complicated, just a bit of fun and a chance to bring the riding community together.
There are also other ways to help out, particularly with trail maintenance.
One thing I'd really like to get across is just how important it is that we have a strong club with a good membership base.
I think sometimes we take the Wooroi trails for granted, but there's a lot of work that needs to happen behind the scenes to keep them open, maintained and improving.
One area where we're really struggling is getting people to turn up for trail care days. Unfortunately, the turnout is often very poor, and much of the work is left to the same small group of volunteers. Considering how many people regularly ride and enjoy Wooroi, it would be great to see more riders giving up just a few hours occasionally to help maintain the trails they use.
I understand everyone has busy lives, but if we all contributed a little bit of time throughout the year, it would make a huge difference.
Without the Noosa Trailblazers, there wouldn't be the same organised effort to maintain the trails, and securing funding for upgrades and improvements would become much more difficult. We also wouldn't have a strong voice representing mountain bikers when dealing with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and other organisations.
Ultimately, without an active club supporting the trail network, we could find ourselves in a situation where trails deteriorate or even face closure.
This is why club membership is so important.
If you regularly ride at Wooroi but aren't currently a member of the Noosa Trailblazers, I'd really encourage you to join. You don't have to race, attend every event or volunteer every weekend. Simply becoming a member helps strengthen the club, supports the work we do and gives us a stronger voice when it comes to protecting and improving our trails.
The more members we have, the better position we're in to secure funding, maintain relationships with the relevant authorities and continue developing the trail network for future generations.
We've got a fantastic trail network right on our doorstep, and I'd hate to see us lose any of it simply because we didn't have enough people supporting the club.
So whether you're a long-time member, someone who rides Wooroi regularly or someone who would like to get a little more involved, please come along to the AGM.
It would be great to see a good turnout, hear some new ideas and hopefully get a few more people involved in keeping the club moving forward.
Thanks everyone for your continued support and I hope to see you there.
