The Rotary Club of Maleny, as Managers of the Maleny Wood Expo, has announced the postponement of the 2026 Maleny Wood Expo until Mid October 2027. This decision was made due to the current world economic uncertainty, an ongoing fuel supply issue and a lack of major event sponsorship.

Rotary Maleny will continue to manage the Maleny Wood Expo and will continue to build for a successful event next year in 2027. 👍💯

Further updates will be provided as we move forward. We would like to extend our thanks to all of those people and groups that have offered their support and look forward to the revival of this iconic event. 😊

This Easter long weekend only!

Easter Parking Trial at Lions Park 🚗🌴

Council will run a four‑day monitored parking trial at Lions Park in Noosa Heads this Easter to help gather the data needed to make long‑term decisions about how the space is used during peak visitor periods. 🐰

From Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April 2026, Lions Park will operate as overflow parking. For the rest of the two‑week school holidays, the park will be closed to vehicles so Council can compare congestion, safety and community impacts between parking and non‑parking periods. 🚙

Temporary pedestrian barriers and directional signage will be installed to improve safety and separate vehicle and foot traffic. 🪧

Findings will be included in the Go Noosa End of Year Report in May and will help shape Council’s long‑term position on peak‑period parking at Lions Park. 🤝

Barung Landcare has handed over the reins of the Maleny Wood Expo to Maleny Rotary. After 26 successful Wood Expos, the annual event has grown into a cherished gathering of 10,000 enthusiasts each year to the region.

Since 1959, when Maleny Rotary developed Mary Cairncross Park, their members have been aware of their role in preserving and enhancing Maleny’s unique beauty and spirit.

Many local organisations and Men’s Sheds, including Maleny Men’s Shed, are proud to be part of this huge, wonderful, much-loved event that brings together so many aspects of all things wood (a particular thanks to our very own Pierre as our Shed rep).

See if you can identify our three cool Shed guys in their very cool purple polos!
